If our whole team had half Emi Martinez's balls maybe we'd have won a single significant title since Fergie retired.

Whats going on at West Ham? Apparently one of the West Ham coaches got in an altercation with one of Leverkusens coaches and both have been sent off.

That is a shit rule on the yellows reset for pens. If the keeper collects a yellow in regulation/extra time it damn well should carry over to pens to maintain discipline and order throughout the match.

But I wonder what happens if a keeper were to be sent off in pens, assuming the rules allowed for in this scenario, would an outfield player go in goal? Would the manager be able to insert another keeper?

Outfield player in goal, opposition lose one player from their taker line-up.

An outfielder has to go in goal

"If a goalkeeper is sent off during the shoot-out, another player who finished the game must act as goalkeeper. If a player, other than the goalkeeper, becomes injured or is sent off during the shoot-out, then the shoot-out continues with no substitution allowed. The opposing team must reduce its numbers accordingly."

And the two yellows should be for the entire “match”.. which includes the penalty shoot out. Stupid rule
Technically a penalty shootout isn't part of a match (the match officially ends after extra time), so by that logic I guess having yellow cards reset makes sense

It would have to be an outfield player in goal. No subs allowed unless the goalkeeper is ill or injured.

Outraged snowflakes
These breathy commentators are the worst, Clive Tyldesley started it and now we get Peter Drury and whoever this feckhead is, they sound like they're commentating on a literal war.

Still not as mad as it used to be in GAA were a player sent off in normal time could be replaced at the start of Extra Time as it was "technically considerd a new game"

That's been changed now thankfully

Angel Gomes makes so much sense as a cheap signing. I'd have never let him go. He would offer us competition for Mainoo, while providing a similar skill set so there wouldn't be a complete drop off tactically or stylistically should he be unavailable. Never seems to be linked with us or anyone else for that matter.

Moyes running into the cabin at half time... have to say, I don't like the way he sets up this teams most of the time and don't rate him that highly, but I absolutely love how passionate he is about what his teams do.

This whole thing is really confusing. Villa look like they can take on City when they play in the PL and yet they don't really look anything special against the 4th placed French side. Leverkusen look like world beaters and yet West Ham are giving them a decent game.

1-0 at HT isnt really good enough for Liverpool, they now need to score 3 in the 2nd half as they wont want ET.
It's dangerously poised.

If Liverpool score the next one, especially in the next 10mins, they'll get a surge like they did v Barcelona a few years back.
Atalanta need to turn up here.
