Didn't Pogba always do his rehab in Dubai, so why wasn't Mourinho applying the same rules to him?
The only way to make sense of it is that Mourinho wanted to make an example of someone and Schweinsteiger was an easy target. Probably a bit of an outsider in the dressing room, not integral to the first eleven. By making the example it would (in theory) send a message to Pogba etc.

Either that, or there was something else to it which we're not aware of. The only reason I think it could be this is that Mourinho had never gone so far before or since in his ostracization of a player.

I dunno, he seemed to bully Deli Ali

it just seems that he goes to a club, picks a player to make a statement and gets to it

De Rossi is making his Roma stint look worse and worse with each passing day.

Not surprised by the interview in the slightest. Jose was and always has been absolutely toxic. He never should have been allowed the privilege of being Manchester Utd manager.

Why is that.. Maybe he built a good team for DDR to take over…
He actually clamed team is terrible and uncompetitive because Roma didn't back him enough. Turns out, it was far from that bad.

Team does well then Jose built the team, that's why next manager is doing well.

If team doesn't do well then Jose was obviously correct about the squad.

This reminds me that Sir Bobby Charlton wasn't a fan of his attitude.

That's a win-win. The other narrative will be that they downed tools.

Teams generally have a good post-Jose bounce. Roma are doing well, Spurs finished in the top 4 the season after Jose left and even we had a great run which got Ole the job permanently. He has become more of a mythical being who some fans want to fawn over but his performances since 2015 have been atrocious wherever he's gone. He still may have one successful stint somewhere but don't know if any big club will want to roll that dice.

There were stories of Jose totally blanking injured players while he was at Chelsea.

He's always been an odd dude.
That one comes from Terry himself and he was still defending him. From memory Terry mentioned two things that injured players were totally ignored, not even acknowledging them when they were in the same room and he mentioned something similar about players that weren't in his immediate plans.

You know things are bad when the press starts venting his name as a possible return to old Trafford (which will never happen, thank God).

Not really. He's made Mou's third season look worse and worse, but what's new. Mou only had one 3rd season that wasn't a complete disaster in his career, early on at Chelsea

I don't follow portuguese rumours much, but saw a couple of weeks ago a newspaper saying he was thinking of benfica. Any chance of this?

Small chances, since sacking Roger Schmidt will cost 20M €. In terms of wage, I think Benfica could afford it if he compromises.
