With Spurs throwing their game against City a week later?

Such a funny scenario isn't it? both United and Spurs potentially losing on purpose to stop their rivals from winning the league

Nah. It would be downright Spursy for Spurs to go and beat City to give Arsenal a chance of winning the legaue. Providing we lose to Arsenal of course

If City keep winning I think they’ll get a bigger punishment because more fans will get fed up with them winning.

Arsenal would deserve it and are a 'proper' club, but once they win it, it would be unbearable from the media and their fanbase. City winning is meaningless, they are quiet and the media doesnt care as much.

We need to be up there and win it ourselves, instead of hoping our historical rivals dont win it or City.

To come back to the main question, we need to fight for the Conference league, so throwing away games is not an option :)

Thinking that Utd could decide to throw a game is laughable.

I'll never understand this mentality, City have already ruined the integrity of the league, if they win one more it doesn't mean shit for them or Pep, because everyone knows they are a bunch of cheats. Every trophy he's won there and at Barca should have a huge asterix beside it.

We destroyed Liverpool season. I have a feeling we are going to do the same with Arsenal. I hope that City somehow still lose the title and I hope we get some decision regarding their charges.

I wouldn't mind Arsenal winning it (league) but the idea of handing it to them is absurd. We want to improve next season and the best way to start that is to win against a good side now.

They cant mathematically win the league at Old Trafford thanks to the Villa game so I dont really care anymore.

Wont matter anyway, if we only win one of our last 4 games its going to be this one.

A City title is infinitely better than Arsenal winning it.

Any trophies won by 115 charges is irrelevant and utterly meaningless to me.
Correct.

Would love nothing more than ending Arsenals race.

Another cunning ruse by our master tactician in chief ETH incoming, play 424 and let the opposition play right through our non midfield and have a bazillion attempts on goal. He wouldn't do that would he?

Wouldnt put past it if some "names" would deliberately scores a blatant suicide pass or even and own goal to score some points with the fans ala Gerrard
They do it regularly even without any additional motivation though.

4 in a row is unprecedented dominance in English football. Could be a Bundesliga situation soon. With every title more questions are asked. Need Arsenal to win the league to save English football. Well, maybe that’s dramatic but I would prefer them to win the league thanks.

Why don’t people want Arsenal to win. I get we were fierce rivals during the SAF Wenger years. But they’ve been irrelevant for 15 years. I get Arteta is like a little annoying horse fly.

at least them winning prevents four in a row and in fairness it shows that a club can come from so far behind, build a good team and start competing again with the right structure and good signings
They have the most insufferable fans on the planet.. but I would still rather see Arsenal win it over 115 charges fc

Just remind the players who they are and they will surely feck it up. I can see it already. Rashford taking on 3 players every time or not having a clue, holding the ball long enough to let the defence get in place. Garnacho being stupidly greedy, Rasmus being ignored and then misses the only real chance he gets. Bruno losing the ball a lot and pinging it up the pitch like it's fifa. Etc.

If we had had a manger with a winning mentality we would have put up a better fight against City to slow them down a bit and maybe have gotten a draw. Someone like Jose. But this fraud doesn’t mind breaking records for the wrong reasons and letting other teams better our own records.

I dont think City winning it will make any difference honestly. Diminishing return. When something happens again and again it kinda takes away the wow factor. Of course I dont want City to win it still. But if we try to stop City by losing on purpose, then Arsenal will be winning it for the first time since ages. Both conditions are unfavourable but losing on purpose is pathetic so Id rather us not to do it. Equally bad outcomes but one is without dignity.

Arsenal will beat us without us throwing it. We won’t throw it, nor should we. And it’s all irrelevant anyway since City will win their last three games. It’d be very interesting though if Fulham took something off City. Especially if it’s a draw since it’d mean City would have to smash Spurs and West Ham in order to make back the goal difference. It’d be good for our cup final chances if they had to beat West Ham by 5 or more on the last day.

It hurts infinitely more to watch a proper club like Arsenal or Liverpool win the league than City.
Wouldn't hurt me to see Arsenal win it as I don't know any Arsenal fans. I didn't like them when we were rivals but that's about it.

My personal opinion is never to throw any match because you’re ruining the integrity of the competition (& no, squad rotation is not throwing a game). But I do realise that that’s much easier said then done. Especially when we get to the latter parts of the league season and some teams have nothing to play for etc. - so even subconsciously it tends to happen. Then of course, I remember Gerrards “back pass” to Drogba ffs.

We’ll probably lose anyway. I’d much rather Arsenal won the league over City as the thought of Abu Dhabi winning 4 titles in a row makes me sick.

It's amusing that people think that we have to "throw" a game to lose it.
I have every confidence in our players, that they will lose the game without needing to purposely "throw" it.
Our form is rock bottom and have recently struggled against teams in the relegation zone.
When we go up against a team fighting for the league title, we'll get pummelled.

It's interesting how many people hold up this "4 in a row so highly." Was us winning 3 in a row the ultimate achievement? City equaled our treble last season and I guess it must wear heavily on some of you.

I am genuinely fed up with 115 charges FC…. But we got to go out to win our games. We need the points.

With the title race being this close it'll come down to us against Arsenal soon.

I know the standard line would be fight for every pts. But with nothing to play for and possibly City winning 4 in a row.

What says the caf?

PS: I dont think it'll come to that, but by the stroke of luck we're winning that game
We've got positions for two European comepetitions to play for. We've also got an FA Cup final to try to build some form and confidence for.

Our season doesn't end when CL qualification isn't possible, regardless of the modern thinking. Wenger used to get slated for saying top 4 was a much bigger trophy than most competitions - nowadays, it seems it's the people who want us to win any of the non-PL / CL titles that's considered wrong.

yeah but we know theyre going to get their charges thrown out. I think theyve ruined football and would much sooner see a proper club win it. If it lays down a marker to us, then so be it.

Also, city not winning the league would give us the opportunity to make them end the season trophyless.

I prefer City winning it over Arsenal slightly, mainly because City winning it means nothing here and is a shrug of the shoulders of 'of course cos they cheated'

But I won't deny that them winning is a problem for the international appeal. In the UK it means nothing (though maybe kids will get influenced) but internationally you will almost certainly get their fan base jumping up each time they win

Go for the win. I prefer the 115 charges plastics winning the league over Arsenal.
