I agree, and I wish certain characters on the Caf would just kill their egos and accept what you post is spot on. There is just no getting around the choice of players ETH brought in, accompanied with his inability to do anything worthwhile with them. It's almost sinful the amount of money spent on the current crop of absolute shite. That's on the manager.
He sold the right players, they were all crap. His replacements have been worse.

He’s a much better GK than Onana for sure?
James Garner is much better than Amrabat
Andreas Pereira is currently better than Mason Mount.
Sancho is miles better than Antony
Potentially that’s £200m saved that we could gone on an elite Spine.

This is on ETH he sold and wanted all those players ?

He is 99% responsible ?
fecking hell, I think you're right. I was surprised Garner wasn't given any/much of a chance. Pereira at least wouldn't have been injured for most of the season. I'll take your opinion on Sancho on faith, cuz I haven't seen Sancho or Antony - either one of them - do anything that would make me think we should have bought them.

With no CB’s apart from Evans, who was rushed back from injury, it was imperative that CM was set up with the strongest players available.
As we’re very limited with this squad, Amrabat was the only player available to fit into that role, but ETH sets up with young Kobbie and a physically feeble Eriksen.
Madness !

.
The band Madness, with members in their 60s, would have done a better job tonight than what we fielded.

I’m saying it again. We will somehow beat City in the cup final and ETH will get an extension. And all is well again. /s

The only team that matters
Ten Hag was dealt a lot of bad cards, but he hasn't helped himself either.

Antony starting over Diallo and Eriksen over Amrabat was insane today.

Today had to have a proper CDM. That was obvious.
And who would that have been because Amrabat isn't one

Just read a stat that said for the first time United have lost 13 games in the top flight :(
Since the PL era started. I’m pretty sure we lost more games when we got relegated and we lost 14 the year Fergie took over.

Can't wait to hear what EtH has to say...
"As Man Utd we should perform better," Ten Hag said to BBC Match of the Day. "The players who were available should do better. It's a deserved defeat. The performance wasn't what we expected.

"We can't focus on just one player [Casemiro]. We have to focus on the team performance. This was not right. We have to put it right on Sunday. We have to learn from this game and improve.

"All season, we have huge problems and by now, this is the fourth defeat in this calendar year, so that's not a lot and every time, we had huge problems and many times, we sort it out. Today, we didn't."

10 points from a possible 33. Thats relegation form. You'd get 35 points over a 38 game season with that form.

A few people are saying he’ll stay if we somehow win the FA cup. Have people forgotten what happened to LVG after winning the FA cup?

That first goal was one of the most embarrassing I can remember seeing us concede.

This is all the Glazer chickens coming home to roost. Pissing money up the wall on huge fees and salaries for old and/or wildly overrated players, leaving a poor first XI and barely any squad depth.

No-one who played yesterday should be regular starters. In fact only three should even be regular squad members. I'm not sure what people expect when we have an OAP and a midfielder whose legs have gone at CB, with an old midfielder with a pacemaker but no legs in front of them. Of course they're going to get destroyed.

Pathetic, we can't even equal the points tally from Moyes season after this result tonight.

Even if we win all 3 remaining games we still finish less than 2013/14
Compare the players available to Moyes and the players we have this season. The former are like peak C115ty in comparison.

Berrada, Wilcox and hopefully Ashworth have a job on their hands trying to fix this mess.
It's an absolute shambles from top to bottom. I can't wait to see what happens in the summer, I'm hoping for a proper bonfire. Anyone in this squad born before 2000 should be sold, let's start again with a young team who can grow together.

I'm actually glad we're out of Europe though, gives fewer matches and more time for coaching next season, and we can just focus on the league and improving as a team.

A long overdue thrashing. It could've been more. We looked like relegation fodder playing the champions. Men against boys.

We're lucky we've not been on the end of more of these.

What a truly abysmal team we are.

3 best players yesterday:

1).......
2)......
3)......

3 worst players yesterday:
1) Casemiro
2) Mount
3) Mainoo

But many players could have been placed among the "3 worst". For example, Antony and Garnacho were completely gone. It is noteworthy that none of our front 3 have a particularly good overview.

I've just woken up, it's 1pm over here where I am. Half of my off day wasted, just because I was stupid enough to stay up at 3am to watch these sorry bunch.

Meanwhile, these players will get their paycheck at the end of the week, a significant sum of money well beyond what I earn annually.

feck football.

Hilarious to see people calling out Mainoo, a teenager in his first proper season, playing in a dysfunctional setup. Prime Xavi would struggle in this team.

And anyway it's not primarily about results, it's about how shit we are and how much if that is due to his dispositions.

We've been out of Europe this season for a good while now and that hasnt helped our league form one bit.
Won't help next season either unless we clear out the manager and other deadwood.

No point judging the players right now. Not sure how anyone can perform in these ridiculous tactics we are playing. So long as they are are putting in effort that's all we can ask and they seem to be. Only one who has given up was Rashford and he's just not playing at all.

I'm assuming we'll have a new manager and hoping for quite a big squad turnover...

Not that it would have mattered one bit, but that disallowed goal is just as ridiculous when watching it back today. Henderson got the freekick simply for being weak as piss. Add that to the long list of decisions that have gone against us this season.

Plus Andersen coming through the back of Dalot for their third goal. Another one where VAR has intervened this season for far less obvious errors by the referee. Obviously completely irrelevant in terms of the results and how shit we are as a team. Still, though. One more example of why VAR can get in the fecking sea.

Replace at least 10 players in the summer with younger hungrier players with a bit of quality.

I dont care if next season is a wipe out as long as the following season is a great one.

ETH has been absolutely shocking this season ( I am a ETH in guy too ) so im not sure what i think now.

But these players god damn it ... the worst bunch of over paid gutless individuals ive ever seen at United and I go back as far as that Alan Sunderland goal in 79.

It was a dog shit performance but what do you expect with that lineup.

A crocked ready for retirement Jonny Evans and a finished Casemiro as our CBs, AWB at left back despite the fact he’s barely good enough at RB, Grampa Eriksen as our midfield lynchpin with a young player barely in double digit appearances next to him. Our bench was horrendous, with most of them never having seen PL action before.

Bring in Maguire and even McTominay ffs into that first eleven and we probably still play shit but no way we lose that badly.

The problem is I can’t take this season seriously. It’s like giving someone a racing car with a dodgy engine and then trying to make an assessment of their racing ability.

Yes there’s a strong chance they might be a shit racing driver anyway, but you can’t know for sure.

Those away fans are the ones the Glazers have treated with contempt since they been there..

Another away day that's been rubbish.. injuries aside should never have gone down so soft . Poor goals poor all round.. been here before seen dross like this in late 70s early 80s.. then it changed same here needs to change ..

I laughed when goals 3 and 4 went in. It's hard to even be angry about it anymore, I just feel disconnected from it all emotionally.

Though I don't think the foul on Henderson was a foul. They both jumped for it, Henderson felt the contact and went over. Are you supposed to only let the keeper challenge for an aerial ball whilst you just stand there and let him? The foul on Dalot for one of their goals was a much clearer foul, but wasn't ruled out for whatever reason.

Palace deserved the win, probably should have had a couple more, and we deserved to be humiliated. But officiating makes this game hard to watch at the best of times.

Agree, thought it was very soft.
