People seem to forget he got sacked from his last 4 jobs. All that comes to mind when I think of him is boring football and shades of a crazy man (I'm sure you can fill in some moments).

Might as well get Jose back or LVG. They've both gotten trophies for their teams which is argument #1 for getting Tuchel in.
Nobody forgets it, we just don't care. Being sacked is completely normal in football. Carlo Ancelotti who is an all-time great has been sacked at least six times in his career!

To be fair his sacking at Chelsea had their fanbase outraged and by the sounds of it Bayern have done a 180 on sacking him but he’s having none of it. He’s not a sexy or exciting manager but the market is threadbare. We could go for McKenna but we’d probably torpedo his career.

I mentioned it and it's a fact that Tuchel massively improved Dortmund's possession play when he took over (an urgently needed change at the time as their previous setup was found out). Nonetheless I agree that he isn't dogmatic towards it, it's just what he did there.
I think his adaptability is something is really convincing me he is the best option. Everyone doesn't want a real "project" manager, that will just take us another 2-3 seasons before style is embedded and we're competing for the highest honours again. He's also fecking nuts, so definitely has the personality to deal with a massive club (and has shown he can at circuses like PSG and Chelsea). He makes real tactical decisions in games when he sees something not working or weakness and he's won things. I don't think he particularly yearns for control over transfers, he seems more like an obsessive coach/tactician in the Pep mould.

Add to the fact there may be a weird deal we can do with Ten Hag with Bayern, it ticks a hell of a lot of boxes.

Unsure about the bit in bold. He's fecking nuts isn't really something that works when you're being told what to do by higher ups. If he gels with INEOS well then it's amazing. If not then it's a problem. He plummeted when Leonardo came back at PSG and things got super toxic. And Chelsea weren't a circus when he thrived there. He got sacked when it became a circus.

180 because they found out later that no one is available. He certainly plays the most un-sexy football of all the high end coaches semi available at this point

Yep. It’s pretty normal for a football manager who isn’t named Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp to have a few sackings under their belt. Especially the ones rotating around the biggest clubs.

Wasn’t thrilled about the prospect of Tuchel but after last night’s debacle I’m more ok with it.

What we currently have cannot continue beyond this season. It hasn’t been my way of thinking all season but last night was the last straw for me.

The list of alternatives to Tuchel is not long. It has to be a no to bringing Jose or Ole back. I can't imagine Zidane being interested. If not Thomas, who?

Not if he believes in them - that is still a question mark on Ashworth, Berrada and Wilcox and on how long it will take/will they get it right. Pep and Arteta are nuts, but work well with those above, so it's fine if they're competent coaches and tacticians. Your point about INEOS is true with any manager though. Fair point on the Chelsea timings got that wrong.

Tuchel , is the only Manager in the last don't know how long that has Failed at Bayern to win the league?

Ineos are looking at new Managers and who knows it could well be someone we haven't heard about..
One thing that is needed is a strong Manager, modern day players are pains in the Ass. Most are at Utd.

But he didn't this season, that's also a fact
True.

However, they won eleven in a row before this season and someone else winning on was due. It's unfortunate for Tuchel that it came under his managerial stint at the club. Also, Neverkusen had a historic season, one for the ages.

With tuchel you will get a tactically sound manager who wanted to have everything under his control in game side like encouraging players, punishing under performers and all. Your structure will suit him very well in my opinion.

He made that chelsea cl winning team building around one of greatest players of modern time football that is kante. If kante is fully fit our chelsea team almost unbeatable. It's unfortunate kante s fitness was gone and chelsea also struggled.

Gundogan clearly stated this that he played under all three coaches tuchel, klopp and pep and tuchel was best tactically. In my opinion manutd will be lucky if he accept the job to coach your team.

I agree. I think he's the disciplinarian everyone lauded Ten Hag for trying to be, but a better tactician and more of a proven winner.

If we do get him though, there will be hell of a lot of pressure on Ashworth, Wilcox and Berrada to get things right quickly - which is not a given.

Seeing the amount of people here turning their nose up at Tuchel, we probably deserve to get stuck with Southgate or Potter

I guess this'll happen pretty quickly after the season. Not particularly optimistic about it but oh well.

You’ve got to think though if it’s a toss up between Tuchel, Ten Hag and Southgate it’s an absolute no brainer.

I can't say it excites me at all, but I do think he could get us finishing top 4 next season with a bit of luck and if we do some decent business in the summer.

Said days ago I'd take him as even a short term appointment. Fix the defence and midfield, he can fall out with any players he wants and get rid of those too.

We will buy a striker whoever comes in.

I think Tuchel will be another manager who gets top 4 and fails to go beyond that. It's hard to get excited about him.

Depends. Tuchel would turn us into a very good side as he always does, but not one on par with Pep or Klopp. That's about all we can hope for right now IMO. Klopp is leaving, Pep hopefully fecks off and that bar for the league is no longer Pep Guardiola level which is pretty much unreachable bar the odd fluke season. However what Tuchel definitely does, repeatedly, is do very well in the CL and cups in general. So becoming a very good side who can compete for the CL would be a great outcome. Not a side who flukes CL qualification through overperformance in finishing and then crashing down to reality, but being just a genuine top 4 side and a side who can push the serious trophies, even if he can't reach the league consistency that Pep has.

He reached a CL final with PSG, he won it with Chelsea, and it's a 50/50 shot today to get another CL final within the past 5 years alone. It's hard to argue with his record there.

I am open to it, maybe a tactical pragmatist like him is what is needed now. He also seems happy to not get involved in transfers and recruitment and just wants to have control on the coaching aspect.

I hope he's learnt from his time at Chelsea, because some of those performances under him in the league were utterly tragic at times. Terrible going forward and wide open at the back.

Get him in.

If he's good, he stays. If he isn't, we find the next one. Only after winning the league title will I have romanticism for any manager.

I'm not even thinking about winning the title. You need luck ultimately, and if pep decides to stay another 10 years at city then he'll always do the majority.

But Tuchel absolutely would turn us into a quality side who gets to the latter stages of the CL consistently which is all we can ask for. Be a functional and be a serious team regularly, competing with the clubs we should be competing with. Whether we get over the line or become an almost club, we'll see, but since Sir Alex retired we've been a Europa League level club.

What makes you not optimistic? I’m actually asking.
I think he's someone that can very quickly get a squad playing to its potential, but doesn't have the patience or personal skills to build it further and the wheels quickly fall off. Feels like a bad match with where we are at this point.
You’ve got to think though if it’s a toss up between Tuchel, Ten Hag and Southgate it’s an absolute no brainer.
Sure, if it was the other two I'd be actively wanting death.

I think if he wins the CL we'll go for him, it'll be too big an opportunity to turn down.

Whilst we shouldn't move off the basis of 2 games, I think a CL at Bayern would be what makes his stint a hit (otherwise its a clearly a flop given all the domestic cup exits, skimming the Bundasliga last season wasn't convincing and he completely fell away from Leverkusen this year).

I get that we need more pragmatism, but that's relative to the shitshow we've seen this season. If we take a clean slate, I don't want an overly cautious manager and want to see a 433 variant with squash buckling football. If Tuchel can apply the Dortmund style that made him so sought after, I'd be more positive about the appointment. All in all, we can do a lot worse than him.

I weirdly think it would be the opposite, if he doesn't we'll go for him. If he does, probably more likely to stay at Bayern.
