In fairness lads that poster seems more obsessed with the 60m that he thinks it will take to sign Olise.
True, there isn’t a hole on the right wing, but there’s plenty dotted around the squad. That’s my original point.

Palmer is up there with those players on current form, and he was in the same situation as Amad last season. A year of starting games in the PL can make a world of difference. I’m not saying he will, but he has the potential to, going off his technical ability.
In hindsight yes, let’s see how he fairs there’s no questioning his potential.

Regarding Palmer, it was such a huge surprise, he just looks so comfortable at this level.

Could say the same with Mainoo. In normal circumstances he'd not be getting the same chances that he's got this season, and he's getting better every game

There seems to be a feeling from the Palace fans on here a lot of his injury issues are due to being rushed back too quick by Hodgson
I'd rather another club take the risk or he stays at Palace next season. Man Utd aren't in a position to take risks on players with long-term injury issues. Look what happened with Mount who only had one bad injury-hit season.

Not sure what Olise's situation is internationally and who he would choose to represent.
But Todibo not making France's team isn't exactly something to hold against him. They've got the biggest reach of players available to them out of any nation!

If he wasn't making a San Marino, Faroe Islands, Scotland, Finland type level, then you could raise this point.
I believe Olise is eligible to represent France (played for under-21s) and England. Sounds like he prefers to play for France.

As for France having biggest reach of players... Is it really bigger than England, this year? Ironically, I doubt either England or France will win Euros, because both of them, especially England, have shitty coaches.

I don't think he has long term injury issues

I am sure a lot of players could say this. The reality is the only hard evidence we have is the fact that he has sustained injuries. Everything else is speculation. We can say for sure that he has been injury prone. People are assuming best case scenario which is that he is not due to xyz reason because they want the signing. We should be taking a cautious approach rather than hoping. If he's injury prone with palace's medical staff, he'll be glass with ours.

His injury history. Personally I think it’s not that bad. He has a thigh injury that surely is solvable with finding the right training and treatment long term. Much like we did with Giggs when he was early 20s.

I’m glad someone has put this up as it just backs up the belief of Hodgson bringing him back too early, I’m actually on a train right this second with a load of Palace fans and they’ve just said as such and that Olise was brought on against Brighton at 3-0 down whilst 50% fit at best then made the injury worse so I’ll take their judgement over the caf’s seeing as that’s their club.

I have a tough time with this one. Underlying metrics say he’s a future star, but reoccurring hamstring issues always scare the feck out of me and I personally would like a more versatile forward that could maybe start on the left as I think Garnacho is better on the right at this moment anyways.

Could go either way, I’ll be happy if we get him but also fine with passing and targeting someone else as I don’t think it’s a slam dunk either way.

It was ONE injury that he was brought back from way too early and as was obviously going to happen went again, nothing at all wrong since.

Olise has versatility in him.

Based on transfermarkt, he has played on the right, left and in the middle. Only a few games on the left when he was at Reading but majority he played on the right with Crystal Palace and more in the middle or as no 10 when he was at Reading. So he’s not really a one dimensional player like Antony.

This versatility is similar to Foden. He’ll be fine in here. I don’t think signing Olise will prevent someone like Amad to play. I think they both can still play together in a line up.

We need winger or wide player who can cross and Olise is a good crosser with both feet.

Not sure why this is a priority for us? We don't need a right winger as Amad can play there, Garnacho plays better on the right than on the left, and if we're desperate Antony can even play, kind of.

Left wing is a much higher priority! We have Garnacho who can play there but not nearly as effectively, and that's it (not counting Rashford because we'd be better off playing with ten men). We need a left winger urgently.

It'll be interesting to see how much genuine noise comes out of the club this summer around our potential signings. Much of that might depend on what happens with ETH + what our new backroom staff can actually do (legally outside of gardening leave etc).

If they keep ETH then my faith will go right down (regardless of how well we might play in the final).

A fit Olise would surely be a v good player, but I can't help think we'll make hard work of this and other transfers.

Just because you want him doesn't mean they'll sell for a price you're happy to pay, or that the player won't want to see what options he has.
Has a release clause...

Still rate Eze higher in terms of ability but Olise would be a great choice if he can stay fit.

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
It is supposedly less than 60m Euros which if we aren't happy to pay then we aren't serious for a young HG winger with his return, that's more than reasonable for a club playing much more for Antony
I don't know what your FFP situation is, what your transfer budget is and what positions you want to spend that money on improving.

I'd imagine you need to sort out what is happening with Sancho, Antony and maybe even Greenwood before you spend what is probably a large % of your transfer budget on Olise.

One of my dream signings for the summer. He's a brilliant player and if we don't snap him up soon we'll watch him go to City, Chelsea or Arsenal in the future and regret not going for him.
