Juventus are reportedly ready to invest a massive £35m in their attempts to sign Fiorentina hotshot Luca Toni.

The Bianconeri are looking to strengthen their side in view of their likely return to Serie A and Toni is seen as an ideal replacement for David Trezeguet, should the Frenchman leave in the summer.

Whispers in the peninsula have been suggesting for weeks that Toni has already met with Juventus transfer consultant Roberto Bettega, even if that claim has been denied by all involved.

The Turin giants are said to be willing to set aside £35m, which would also include his salary, but the Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper insists that still might not be enough to convince the Della Valle family to sacrifice the Azzurri hero.

The Tuscan owners are looking to reinforce the Viola machine and seem set on offering Toni a contract extension, plus a significant pay rise and bonuses depending on the results achieved.

Toni was also paired with a move to Inter last summer as the hitman openly declared that he was keen on immediately competing for the Champions League and Scudetto.

However, President Diego Della Valle blocked his transfer and convinced the former Palermo forward to remain.

If last year’s top scorer were to stay in Florence, Juventus might make a move for Milan man Alberto Gilardino instead.

According to some transfer specialists, Juventus may even be ready to offer Gigi Buffon to the Rossoneri in exchange for the striker and a significant lump of cash.

Are they sure it isn't euros?
Well they said it includes his slary din't they, so et's see here....

£3-4m a year on wages, call it a 3 year deal. And the rest to try an win over Fiorentina, of course they needn't use all of it.

It'd be a tough decision but I think, if we are REALLY talking 35M, I'd be willing to sell Richardson to them.
