he’s playing the long game. soon teams will become complacent and stop bothering marking us from corners entirely. we’ll then go on to score 10 goals a game from set pieces for a period of three straight years, culminating in us winning the world series.

What we need to do is continue to be stubborn and hard working, pick same takers like Shaw who continue to take shite corners and eventually our luck will change.

Apparently nobody in our team is capable of delivering the ball past the first man. Shocking stuff.
The set piece deliveries are abysmal. If we had decent deliveries, we would be a threat.
If someone could teach Shaw to chip it over the first man we might have a chance. Makes it look so hard.

I think some fella on reddit analyzed 10k+ games a few years ago and came up with just above 1% conversion rate so taking averages into account we're just missing one singular goal really so far.

I actually sigh when we get a corner. It's inevitable which I never imagined would be the case.

A damning stat. It makes no sense, as we're definitely capable of good deliveries. We often deliver a good corner, but nobody moves for it (though we do also hit the first man with a lot of them too).
Maguire is great at winning the ball in the air and scores a fair amount for England, and Ronaldo is the best header of the ball in the world. Corners are a low-percentage opportunity, but we still should be doing better.

Regardless, did you really count all our corners in every game this season ? A little bit too much, eh ?
We're at the point where we should just treat corners as another throw in and just get it back in play without bothering to kick it towards goal.
West Ham and Wolves have scored 7.8% this season.

I dont think we practice taking corners. There's no way you can practice taking corners and be as consistently bad at them as Shaw, Bruno, Greenwood all are.

Doesn't help when I'd say (conservatively) 80% of our corners hit the first man.
Anyone know how many corners against us? And how many goals have we conceded from that?
