I’ve always considered it. Malcolm himself was a self-made billionaire and took arguably the worst NFL team and won the Super Bowl with them eight years later. He definitely knew good decision making and a high level of business nous and he lived a rollercoaster of a life. He seemed a pretty inspirational figure judging by the stuff written about him.

He was pushing 80 when the Glazer Family bought us so I imagine he probably didn’t have that much input into things. He probably put his feet up after the Bucs won the Super Bowl back in 2003. You’ve probably accomplished all you could in life after that.

It’s a common cliche that the kids of a successful person end up being not as savvy as that person, and I get that feeling here.

Mate, include that quote that you found and make your case anyway. If anyone points out it doesn't say what you think it says, just deny and deflect.

Listen you walking bag of piss if the big man was here and heard you say that he'd buy that sidewalk and put you and your family under it.
Was that where he found Avram? Might explain why he looks like that

Rich McKay was the GM of the team when Malcolm bought the club, he's the one who picked Dungy and helped build that late 90s and early 2000s team that would go on to win the Superbowl. Gruden got them a championship but they let McKay walk so Gruden could run things and the success quickly turned to failure. Glazers buy something and keep the people who were around from the previous era, success. Glazers make changes over time, not so much success.

Poor Malcolm never heard about the concept of pulling out. Great guy otherwise.
Imagine his poor wife having that hairy sweaty lump of lard pounding away at her, not just once but numerous times.

If I said what I really feel and what I’d really love to say in response to this thread then I would be banned without question

I’ll just say that they’re a credit to him and he’d be proud of the massive pricks they’ve become

We can't forget that outside of sports, his approach towards managing his property empire earned him the affectionate nickname of "kindly grandfather" from his many tenants.

No wait, actually it was "slumlord".

I can tell by this lazily written, pseudo-intelligent, sarcasm-ridden version of an overly constructed joke post, that the OP is probably in his mid-30s.

That would fit well with the in vogue-humour of that age group. You know, the same people who think it's hilarious making overly intricate trolling YouTube videos on how The Phantom Menace is the best Star Wars movie. And also the same meme-shouters who actually found Shia LeBeouf's mental breakdown thinly disguised as a motivational speech on speed, was either funny, genuinely motivational, or both.

No offense. I just don't see any value in threads like these. Put it in the lazy jokes subforum, and cheese it out with the fellowship of keyboard comedians.

TLDR; Darcie Glazer is clearly the puppet master behind this whole operation. I also think she is the head of our scouting department.

When the Glazers first took over, the arguments against them were "hurr durr debt bad!" and "damned Yanks, I hate damned Yanks". In fact, the debt never really impacted the club, while having David Gill and Alex Ferguson in charge meant that we continued to prosper.

The current owners have done fine in operating the club from a commercial prospective, but have no idea how to run the footballing side of things. As a result, our transfer record over the past decade has been nothing short of atrocious, our infrastructure is now stale, and our managers prior to ETH were, in many cases, awful. This is what really needs to improve under the new ownership.

Your first thought on reading Uncle Malcolms name is, no doubt, to smash your screen and batter your nearest family member, but hear me out because actually, I am right.

Malcolm Glazer as it turns out was brilliant and it was his inbred sons who took what he made and did what inbreds do - fecked it into oblivion. I will now present the case as to why Malcolm was a revolutionary and had he not had a stroke when he did, we would all be sporting paedo glasses and beards in his honour.

Now remember, this whole case hinges on the fact that Malcolm Glazer (OG ((Original Glazer)) ) had a stroke on April 2006 where he was forced, by god, to stop running both the Tampa Bay and Manchester United clubs.

Evidence

Tampa Bay - Prior to being purchased in 1995 by Grandaddy Malcolm

Needless to say, they were utter shit. Complete cretins from the top down. Now I don't know anything about American Football, aside from being amazing at NFL Blitz in 2002 and despite not even understanding the rules, completely smashing nerds across England for fun - and yet instinctively from a purely numbers based view I can say with absolute authority that they are terrible numbers. Now look at what happens when Money Malcolm gets involved:

Please feck that last bit off as it's not helpful to my argument. So we can categorically say that Malcolm Hellraiser Glazer completely transformed the team and made them produce some excellent numbers. Not only that, but also remember Tampa Bay went from no-nonsense Malcolm to full-on-nonce sons who took over from 2006, look at what they managed to achieve with just over a year under the belt:

They fired their most successful coach, probably to banjo music, and suffered a 12 year run of ABSOLUTE SHITE. Sound familiar? That's right you stupid bitch.

Score:
Malcolm Glazer: 1
Scary Movie Butler Looking Sons: 0
Your brain: -1

Manchester United - Shit's about to get real and I'm going to blow your stupid fecking minds

Malcolm Glazer buys the club in May 2005 and puts some debt on. In 11 months time he will suffer a stroke and no longer run the club. Who knows what he planned to do in those 11 months, no-one will ever know. All we can know was that not only did we win the league that season (probably doing so partly for him after his stroke) but it turns out the big thing that really fecked us came on July 2006 (3 months after Big Talc & Malc stroked out and was no longer involved) where his leperous sons:

I did have a quote here from wiki about debt restructuring, but having read it again it looks like they introduced something that actually reduced our annual interest payments, so I've removed it as it no longer supports my argument.

Unfortunately much of my argument from that point onwards no longer applies as it was based on that misunderstanding above although, ultimately, the gist is the same and just as devestating. Malcolm Glazer was a potentially brilliant owner, tragically taken away from us just one year into his reign, potentially by supernatural forces. A lot of you are going to have entrenched views based on your own ignorance that I just can't penetrate with cool logic, but I will leave you with one little morsel that sums up my entire argument and why you, if you choose to ignore this fact posted on this irish forum, are a racist.

TLDR: You are a little fecking nerd and you have been told, the leprechaun lives on.

This guys gets it!

He lives on in spirit and will always be remembered. You'll be remembered when people bump this thread each year to celebrate his achievements and ask who this post was in response to because your account was deleted on account of you being a wanker.
Oof, that hurts. Thought I was doing a fact check joke instead of wanking.
The mind works in mysterious ways.

But to continue the bickering about disrespectfulness: Then what is the unnecessary name-calling of his children for? Them being – possibly – lesser achievers than the shoes they stepped into (handed to them by the grand achiever, to be fair), doesn't really awaken a need to call anyone an inbred (though, to be fair, I did not fact check that part – apologies if they are in all actuality bred in, and you simply thought that was crucial to you analogy).

may the fella rest in peace though. Hope his kids don't get crucified too much for being alleged less successful sports club owners

What gets me is that they bought the club with relatively minimal investment, made a shit load from us over the years and are due to pocked billions in clear profit.

Yet peoples still think they're bad, clueless businessmen. It's lunacy. You can hate them for the state they're leaving the club in, but it's moronic to think from a business perspective they haven't played an absolute fecking blinder.

Sad but true

For years people said their debt laden business plan wouldn't work, we wouldn't have any money for players, we would go bankrupt like Leeds or Liverpool etc.

In the end, even with the debt we have wasted an insane amount on the squad in the last decade and thankfully never came close to financial disaster. But COVID matchday losses plus a need for huge infrastructure investment has now finally pushed them to the point where they will hopefully feck off once and for all.

The gazillions that are heading their way would suggest otherwise. Sometimes to be successful in business you have to a hard nosed, ruthless, thickskinned sob and the way they have dragged out the sale, oblivious to all the anger and hatred aimed at them from a global fan base, suggests they don't lack in these qualities. And their bank balances will reflect that.

thats nothing to do with them being shambolic owners, and they were rich before they came to the club purely on the back of their father. They would have bankrupted nearly any other club

At the end of the day, you can't spell glazers without rearranging the letters to "ez slag" so put your feet up, chill the feck out and support the team. Come on you mighty red devil rays!

*There's also an "r" in glazers but it doesn't make any words so just forget it exists.
