Howard Stern was asked this and said Sgt Peppers, Revolver, some album by Jimmy Hendrix and some Album by Led Zeppelin i think. His reasoning was that on those albums every song was exceptional.

Love the Beatles but Sgt. Pepper had some absolutely dire tracks when you take them as single songs (when i'm 64, Lovely Rita, Good morning (sorry John) and Sgt Pepper reprise). It's definietly a Paul album. Revolver is a far more consistent album imo.

OK Computer's better than The Bends. And I'd go even further. Kid A is better than OK Computer
I always knew you were a wrong'un

Kid A was where I stopped being a fan. I tried with some of the later albums but it does nothing for me at all. Kid A just felt like they were forcing a change of direction.

I’d say OK computer too but didn’t want to list them twice. I never got into their newer stuff

edit: yes I know Kid A isn’t exactly new

OK C. was perfect and I know what you mean with Kid A, but that came out just as I started experimenting with LSD. It blew my mind. So did the album

I'm not sure about the premise of the OP.

Most of the ones I would choose would be ones from back in the day when you'd buy and album, listen to it to death and it wasn't easy to skip songs.

So I suspect we've kind of Stockholm syndromed ourselves into liking every song on a lot of albums where if they came out recently some of those songs just wouldn't get listened to.

Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
Audioslave - Studio Album by Audioslave
U2 - The Joshua Tree
Good picks

Linkin Park I was never big into back then. Obviously knew all their songs etc but it’s only in recent years probably since he died that I fully began to appreciate how good Hybrid Theory was

Kid A on acid? My god I'm not sure that sounds like a great idea at all. Although not as bad as a bloke I knew, who was mad into Nine Inch Nails, and went home and listened to them on a comedown from acid. He did not have a good time.

It's my go to album when I'm going through it. I feel every word on some of their songs.

Nice list!

Watching the TV or is it watching me
I will never understand the love of Radiohead they are a really dull band

The Jam - All mod cons
Jeff Buckley - Grace
Springsteen - Born to run
Ladyhawke - Ladyhawke
White Lies - To lose my life

The last 2 are albums I just love and I've seen one of them played through live and will see the second one played live in the coming year whilst not of the same ilk as some bands mentioned but they are 2 of my favourite albums start to finish without question

I get you may not like them but dull? Strange take tbh with them having such a diverse and wide ranging sound.

The true north.
Nas - Illmatic.
Kanye West - The College Dropout

That's truly all I can think of, it's a high standard to hit.
