Very surprised at some of the comments.

Having had the chance to watch him as an 8, due to Brighton having some injuries, I can confidently say I would love Mac Allister at United, and he'd be a perfect fit for that playmaker role, in my opinion. The reason being is:

- He very rarely loses the ball
- He's dynamic
- Comfortable receiving the ball in tight areas
- Has a decent passing range (short is better, could work on his long)
- Has an eye for goal
- Set piece specialist
- Knows the Premier League

To me, he's a more dynamic version of Eriksen. I look at players like Gundogan at City, and believe that Mac Allister, if we were to get him, would be that type of player for us, with Bruno taking up the more advanced role.

To me, if the money is right, then this one is a no brainier.

ten Hag went all out for De Jong last summer and couldn't get him. He now has a chance to get a player in Mac Allister, who, whilst he hasn't got the dribbling ability of De Jong, shares a lot of other attributes.

Mac Allister, Bruno and Eriksen rotating in those 8 roles, with Casemiro and maybe Lavia as our two options as the single pivot.

He is also tough. A lot braver, more physical and more of a fighter than Eriksen and Bruno.

Really really don’t understand this opinion. He’s alright and he will suit Liverpool well. I don’t get how his profile is the signing we need? Someone help me, maybe I’ve been watching a different player.
I think the post below yours, from Walter, sum it up nicely.

Yeah but if macallister goes for a big fee it will make it harder for anyone to sign caicedo. I personally think macallister is a more complimentary partner for casemiro than caicedo because he has a better passing range. Think he would be a good more mobile alternative to eriksen

Goodish player. Status elevated because of the world cup but no where near 70M quality range.

If were going for someone from Brighton it should be Caicedo.

Honestly, I think the price tag being quoted for Mac Allister is pretty steep.

If we're going to push hard for any of Brighton's midfielders, it should be Caicedo.

Apologies, I missed this post and have now basically repeated it word for word!

Does he compliment Casa though?
Casemiro is 31 and his best years are behind him, Caicedo may very well over take him in the next years. It's not only about complementing Casemiro but creating competition within the squad. Specially when key players are ageing.

I like him but i think we probably need a very technical possession dominating midfielder more than we need a dynamic box-to-box player since Fernandes essentially already provides that. Kokcu could be a good fit in that respect.

He has a guile that i think we could do with. Tenacity, passion, and a winning mentality. Would love to see him here in the same squad as Licha and Garnacho.

Summary, a good squad player, not in the £70mil range.
So Mac Allister isnt a 6 or a 8 but a 10. A upgrade on Donny. Probably not good enough at elite level week in week out to play as a 6 or 8.

Not what we need at all.

@Raaes your videos are awesome.

Maybe just buy Brighton's scouting team, we could then buy premium replacements for the 10th of the price we currently pay for.

Looks decent in a mid table team but I dont think he'll stand out at a top club

Brighton should cash in if they get the rumoured 70m fee.

@Raees agreed your videos are on the money every time. I've seen them appearing on other fan sites too. Keep up the good work.

Brightons best player.

Looks to have the right mentality along with the ability.

I'd be landed if we signed him!

That’s not what I said
So what do you mean by ''MacAllister alone would be a huge success imo.''?? I thought you said signing MacAllister alone would be considered huge success of transfer window.

Maybe he mean that Mac Allister would be a good player for us regardless of other transfer. He wasnt mean to say Mac Allister is the only transfer cmiiw.

He’s one of those players that has lived up to the WC hype. Been very impressed with the way he control that midfield and always creates space for himself in the attacking box. Would be an amazing signing along with lavia from Southampton
