Mermania Rulez!!!...Merms come back!!!
He's not coming
All that article says is we're interested and we have to agree a fee with the club before we talk to the player. Nothing more, nothing less. How did you form such a definitive statement from whats given there.

That said, there's another article written by some spainish author who quotes Sanchez saying he wants to play only for barca or stay put in Italy. Haven't seen anyother article with the same quote/ there's no proper source for the quote, hence i didn't post it here. I'd like it very much if we get the player, but it wont be end of the world as far as i'm concerned

Not going to sign imo.

These type of reports where we have been close to signing a player happens almost 2-3 times with different players every season.

I'm quite lonely at the airport, however I have just met a tramp who proclaimed that he had once saw a Womble. He asked me what I'm doing here and said official transfer business, I'm waiting for Sanchez I said.

He started shouting and balling; "Sanchez, Sanchez are you here Sanchez?!"

I thought this was a good idea, I chimed in "Sanchez, Sanchez, I'm from MUFC!"

Apparently this is against airport rules and we were told to leave, naturally I blamed the tramp and he was escorted out by airport police.

So, while he won't have a warm nights sleep tonight somewhere in the airport, I can continue my vigilant quest in warmth and comfort all night.

- Just saw an Airbus 380, quality.

United could spend £85million on David De Gea, Phi
“Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United and two Italian clubs have made offers for Alexis Sanchez,” said an Udinese consultant.

It is well known the Chilean is hot property on the transfer market and the subject of a bidding war worth at least €35m.

“There are five clubs who are doing everything to get hold of him: Barcelona, Manchester City, United and two Italian clubs,” Udinese consultant Stefano Antonelli told Sky Sport Italia.

“The offers have all come from these clubs. We don’t want to create a bidding war, but he is the big name on the transfer market at the moment and everyone wants him.

“Over the next few days we should learn where Sanchez will go. We wanted to keep hold of the player, but when there is an important offer, it should be evaluated fully.”

It is widely believed the two Italian clubs in the race are Juventus and Inter, but he is thought to be closest to Barcelona.

“All the clubs we talked about have a chance of signing him, but right now my feeling is that he’s more likely to go abroad.

“Barcelona’s very powerful push on to the scene has changed the scenario somewhat.”

If that's true I can see us being 3rd, 4th or 5th in the pecking order. City pay feckloads and Barca are Barca. The two Italian clubs might be attrctive as he already plays in Italy. I can see our name being in there just to help make the price higher
By the sounds of it the pecking order is:

Barcelona
City
Us/Inter
Juventus

:annoyed: Has any player ever actually gone for money over prestige of playing for a bigger club?.. Anyone who passed on United to play for a team in its first season in the CL. Let alone a star with some pedigree. if anything City are last in order.

its either us or Barca.

So, here it is

This summer's Benzema/Berbatov. Took it's time arriving, but at least it's here after all

I really don't know about this signing, makes me wonder what will happen with Young, whether that will be abandoned, and you've got to think the Nani to Inter (as Sneijder make-weight) stories will return

I expected the deal to be half concluded today, and now i find myself having to wait for a few days again
Never expected this to be concluded today. Not with the way Udinese are doing things - meeting one team per day and the guy to speak to is Barcelona!

They w say they don't want a bidding war, but they've been trying to construct a bidding war for over 1 year. So this one could take at least 1 week yet!

Slowly going around the bend!
I'd be very surprised if he joined us to be honest.
I would imagine we're ahead of City but behind Barca although I'm sure I read somewhere he preferred us as he be on the bench more at Barca.
So in short I haven't a clue, so will wait until it's all over and then proudly proclaim 'I told you so' even if I didn't!:houllier:

Which means we might not be that stupid lonely Jew kid at Chrimbo?!
According to spanish papers Barcelona is only offering 25 mln + 1 kid they dont need no more like Bojan or Jeffren. Inter and City paying 30 cash. So if we take that Udinese would rather sell Sanchez abroad, and Alexis wouldnt like to play for stupid clb like City. it leaves Barca and United. if United is ready to match inter/city offer. i would like to believe cash money would suit Udinese better than barca's 25+useless kid offer.

so we will see, my cock still out.

I still believe that it is a good chance that he will sign for us but,
I can not agree that Bojan can be defined as a useless kid.

Agree, he's not a kid anymore...

Does anyone still thinks we're going to get him? Really? Buying Young and Sanchez makes no sense whatsoever...

how much have you seen of him this year? I can admit my opinion on him is mostly based on the chats with my mates barca fans. they loath him , and want him out. he sounds like Obertan of Barcelona. And few years ago they were waking all over the place at him. so i figured he must really gone mediocre for them to turn on him 180 degrees.

It doesn't but why would we go out there to negotiate if we weren't intent on signing both? Unless should we sign Sanchez we decide we're just going to screw over Ashley Young?

Does signing Jones and Raphael Varane makes munch sense? no. but it seems we are getting both.

That's what I mean all the papers and twitter bollocks says we did agree a fee yesterday, yet absolutely nothing said of it today and now every big club in Europe is having talks.

He won't be coming here, not to bothered if he doesn't anyway.

Robben and Essien both went to Chesea due to huge contracts offered. We were in for both

I've actually seen him on several occasions, as he has played quite a lot even though he has often started as a substitute. Bojan is a huge talent, and already a very good player IMO. I wouldn´t mind him in our squad!
