All ticket/travel information thread - 2024/25 edition - Ticket Purchasing FAQ in OP. Please read it and be careful purchasing tickets

iv just been emailed to say i wont be eligible to apply (i am cup season ticket holder with 9 credits!!) :smirk:

With a small allocation of just 14,770 tickets, unfortunately you won't be eligible to apply as applications will only be accepted from

  • Executive Club Members and Season Ticket holders with at least one European away credit, gained in the last three seasons,
  • Executive Club Members,
  • Platinum and Gold Level Season Ticket holders (including amenity) who have purchased a ticket for all 10 home cup games played so far this season. If a ticket was forwarded or donated, this will count. If a ticket was listed for resale this will not count,
  • Wheelchair user Season Ticket holders.

Priority will be given to eligible fans with credits, who will all be successful. Remaining tickets will be balloted at random between all other applicants.

Thats harsh pal.
Have you gone to the games or just bought tickets for credits?

Members or cup season ticket holders with credits getting shafted.

Makes you wonder why you'd bother building up credits to get pushed to the side for a final

I’d be sending proof of my costs for the 9 games to United and asking them for a justification.

Seems the only way they overturn ridiculous policy is when it’s broadcast to the media.

There will be spares out there due to flight and hotel prices

Not so sure.

Why should a season ticket holder with 1 away get priority over say a member who's got every euro away and now can't go to the final.

It's queue jumping plain and simple. Everyone with a euro credit first. Then the rest

Those who've spent their money going to euro aways should be top of the queue
I agree pal.
But we have seen that being a ST holder gets you access to these kind of opportunities for years.

Certain things need to be weighted imo.

1. Someone who has been to all aways in the comp should get a ticket for the final. If they are a ST, CST or member.

I rang united , on hold for two hours, and they said it wont change. Its the decsion they made.
I gave them the same example.
I said there would be a lot of season ticket holders in the 9000 odd people who have a credit anyway, so they should have had another set of critiera like 7/8 away credits that would mean the members and cup season ticket holders that have paid to see united away this season could apply.
Apparntly there are 9000 exec members who automatically get to apply for a ticket....! Pay for what you get i guess!

i sent a message into the fan forum as it needs to be looked at in subsequent season.

Didnt do bucharest or sociedad (didnt have enough credits for plzen)

Resale websites I presume have people selling tickets based on credits from purchases for games they haven't gone to.
Not suggesting this here but system is so open to abuse. Digital tickets make it easy to put a name in

Like said on here before a lot apply for euros away but don't go and keep credits

I know it’s a long shot but any singles for Bilbao in W15 or W16 I’ll take so I can take my lad. Seat can be anywhere as he will just come stand with me.

Because they didn't go....

Not eligible as a silver season ticket holder who's attended all cup games but it's fine, I can't argue with season ticket holders that have credits or gold season ticket holders getting priority and think that season ticket holders should always get priority over members etc.

Has to be a cut off somewhere when there's only 15,000 tickets to go around.
Unlucky but I can’t pity you as I didn’t get the last two Euro finals as a silver. I did my time. Finally a gold so I have this one. Also have an away credit so would’ve got it on that account too.

I’ve 9 credits not a ST holder and attended all 9. I’ve buddies who have 1 away credit and have never been to an away eligible .
I think it’s kind of harsh on away credit holders who can’t get access to a ST

Flight booked for final last night , hopefully ill
Get sorted

Am I reading the email wrong in that exec members can apply for up to 2 tickets each for the final?!
Yeah that’s right but it’s expected as I’m under the impression that they can apply for more than one ticket for the domestic aways?

Execs can apply for one ticket per seat (maxed at 2). The two ticket cap is for the likes of companies or individuals who own more than two tickets.

Has anyone else just had their account sanctioned, citing use of automated software?

Not sure what to do from here, as I haven't used any software or touted any tickets so I haven't the foggiest why this has happened.

Is anyone in the same boat or had this happen to them?

The club have said that my account has been restricted and have cancelled my upcoming tickets.

I just don't think European away credits on their own should be the criteria for our biggest games. I think the fairest way to do it is to reward those that back the club the most financially and go to the most games, whether that be home or away, epecially when the amount of credits you have is partially down to how successful you are in a ballot process. Members are quite fortunate that they get the chance to apply for Euro aways in the first place to be fair.

It's shit that everyone that wants to go can't, but unfortunately there's only 15K tickets to go around.

That should be the main talking point here, 50K seats and they have only allocated 30K to the finalist.

Hello, do you have any recommendations for places to watch the Final in Bilbao without a ticket? A few if my friends will be traveling without one. Thank-you.
You should have no problems. Bilbao is full of pubs, and you can watch the match in any of them
Pozas Street (next to the stadium) is a good option.
There are also some english pubs in the city center . you can google them

Silly question I know, but are there any affordable hotels around Bilbao that you would recommend for the final?
prices are crazy for that days. 10-15 times the normal prices, not only in center, but also within a 30-40 km radius

I would say the the only way to find reasonable accommodation is to make friends with an Athletic fan next Thursday and have them invite you to stay at their place.
You might even get lucky and they have tickets for the final (we have already most of the ticket of UEFA ballot)

Best options are Vitoria or San sebastian, but you would need to arrange transport to bilbao (1 hour trip)

Technically speaking correct but everyone who has been buying tickets and not going this season, will have been going and collecting in the two years previous. So while I agree the new way is crap and open to abuse, the people who are "abusing" is per se are the same people who did put the hard yards in over the previous couple of years.

Because the club, like every football club in existence, will always prioritise season ticket holders when push comes to shove. Season ticket holders spend a guaranteed sum of £700-1100 or so every year with the club; members are guaranteed to pay the club what, £35 a year? The club doesn't see a penny of members going abroad for a few days and watching the team & the reality is members are fortunate that they are eligible for Euro aways as it is (which btw I do think is a great thing as there are really top people that follow United all over Europe without STs), but those people are never going to be, and never have been to my knowledge, at the front of the queue for finals, certainly not ahead of STH. This isn't news so I don't really get the bitching about it now.

Thank you for your advice. I know a few people who are flying to Biarritz and getting a bus from there to Bilbao (about 3 hours). There isn't a bus back to Biarritz after the game that night, so they are hitting the bars in Bilbao after the game and getting the first bus back to Biarritz the next morning (around 6ish).

I’m staying in Santander for 4 nights for £185. Getting an Alsa bus (90 min drive) to and from Bilbao (about €8 each way) and the stop is a few hundred meters walk away from the stadium.

It’s the flights that have bent me over

Sounds like a good plan. Mad how we are forced into being creative due to the outrageous prices.

There are buses leaving from bilbao bus station to madrid airport until 2:00

But don’t forget that you are not qualified yet

I will probably have a couple spare hotel rooms for Tues-Thurs in Bilbao. I booked them a few weeks ago with free cancellation (deadline Mon). It’s twin rooms for both nights and works out around £750 per room per night. I think that’s a lot cheaper than they are right now so I’d rather give them to someone at that price rather than cancel and let the hotel resell for double. PM if interested.

Wow, booked weeks ago and they were £750 per night then?

Have up to 4 tickets available for West Ham next weekend, in pairs but both in Stretty tier 2, blocks are next to each other (3104 and 3105).

Drop me a DM if interested.

Have you emailed them? I’ve been blocked before, it’s claims I’m a bot. Usually it goes back to normal after a week or so. I don’t even know what a bot is or how it operates never mind being one.
I’ve never heard of tickets being cancelled before, seems harsh. Nothing surprises me with United though

Hi, sorry if this is a bit of a noob question. But how does ticket forwarding work? Is it only ST holders that can forward tickets? Members can only sell tickets back to the club, right?

I ask as we have tickets for Bilbao next week, friend booked 2 tickets. One is under senior membership, the one I was going to use. Getting a bit stressed that I'll be denied entry at the turnstiles, so was wondering if it's possible to create a new membership and get the senior ticket forwarded on to the new membership. From what I can see though, you can only do transfers to like-for-like memberships, senior to senior for example...

Urgh, probably panicking for no reason, but I kind of wish I hadn't bothered arranging for next week now, especially as we're hopefully nearly there now, will be stressing me out up until we get into the ground!

I have - it asked for a copy of my ID, which I sent.

They also asked for "a detailed explanation of the software used".

That's reassuring that I am not the first, but it is infuriating that they would just do this on a whim.

I will keep trying the ticket office today and tomorrow, failing that, it'll be first thing Tuesday morning - not a chance are they making me miss Thursday night!

When you say that it's happened to you, did you contact the club to clarify/ complain or did they just unblock you off their own accord?

Sounds like some slog. They will need to bring some deodorant and Rennies with them. Hopefully some decent weather to get some sleep where they sit.
