All Time 11 In Your Lifetime - No Two Players Can Have Played For The Same Country or Club.

Oblak is a very popular pick.

He’s Slovenian and he’s played for Atletico, Benfica, and some crap teams. He doesn’t eliminate too many options in other positions.

And of course, he’s fecking quality.

I've already had a go, so hope this is allowed. Its way past midnight, and I can't sleep tonight so had a go at deliberately doing the opposite of the title.
I created an all time 11 where its compulsory to mention a minimum of five players that were before my lifetime, and compulsory to pick 5 pairs of those that have played for the same country leaving one spare man. Spare man had to be from a different country, and league from all of the others. Leagues were capped at two representatives with three lives like a video game to achieve this.

van der Sar (Netherlands)

Marco Antônio Feliciano (Brazil)
Marius Tresor (France)
Victor Rodriguez Andrade (Uruguay)
Djalma Santos (Brazil)

José Leandro Andrade (Uruguay)
Jean Tigana (France)
Frank Rijkaard (Netherlands)
Mario Coluna (Portugal)

Puskás (Hungary), Eusebio (Portugal)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pairs = Brazil, France, Uruguay, Portugal, Netherlands
Spare man = Puskás (Hungary)
League representatives:
Dutch X2, English X1, Italian X2, Brazilian X2,
Uruguayan X2, Argentine X2, French X3, Portuguese X3,
Spanish X1.
Just edged it with one remaining life as surpassed the capped league limit (2) with the French, and Portuguese league.

GK - Jose Luis Chilavert (Paraguay)
RB - Roland Nilsson (Sweden)
CB - Franco Baresi (Italy)
CB - Kalidou Koulibaly (Senegal)
LB - Anatoliy Demyanenko (USSR)
DM - Graeme Souness (Scotland)
CM - N’Golo Kante (France)
CM - Lothar Matthaus (Germany)
RIF - Lionel Messi (Argentina)
F9 - Zico (Brazil)
LIF - Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)

Interesting one. I'll go with 4-2-3-1.

GK: Oblak (Benfica, Atletico Madrid) (Slovenia)
RB: Srna (Shakhtar Donetsk, Cagliari) (Croatia)
CB: Maldini (Milan) (Italy)
CB: Pepe (Porto, Real Madrid, Besiktas) (Portugal)
LB: Cole (Arsenal, Chelsea, Roma) (England)
CM: Keane (Man United, Celtic) (Ireland)
CM: Matthaus (Gladbach, Bayern, Inter) (Germany)
CAM: David Silva (Valencia, Man City) (Spain)
RW: Messi (Barcelona) (Argentina)
ST: Mbappe (Monaco, PSG) (France)
LW: Mane
(Southampton, Liverpool) (Senegal)

That took more thought than I had originally anticipated. Only listed the "major clubs" that most might know here, I believe I haven't missed any overlaps.

An all time XI without Ibra? Nah

I would have Van Basten and Messi in ahead of him in any case, and given Zlatan has played half a dozen top clubs across Europe he rules out far too many other players, it’s why you don’t see fat Ronaldo in these teams as well.

If that works then that’s the best I’ve seen by far :-)

Ljungberg and Van Dijk both played for Celtic.

See what I tried to do here xi:

Giggs---------------Boniek--------------Mbappe
---------------Bochini
-------------------------------------Xavi
------------------------Dunga
Maldini------------------------------------------Lahm
------------------Terry---------Van Dijk
-----------------------Jennings

The pace in that front line!

Fell short in quality toward the end, hence the deviations.

You have 2 players that have played for the same club there.

Chilavert

Ramos
Godin
Hansen
Maldini

Roy Keane
De Bruyne
Platini

Maradona
Shearer
Lewandowski

I think this works.

Disclaimer: I’m an Arsenal fan who has been lurking for about a decade. On the whole I like this place and respect the level debate.

Apart from the Moyes apologists - never understood those guys.

GK - Neuer

RB - Carragher
CB - Maldini
CB - Laporte
LB - Marcello

MF - Hamsik
MF - Koke
MF - Giggs

SS - Bergkamp

FW - Drogba
FW - Messi

I tried to pick a team that could actually function on the field.
