You're right, I totally ignored how well he did that season generally and maybe he belongs in a different category as a striker who worked singularly well in a specific system - but I mean, he had the genoa season which made his name and the Inter season where suddenly he was incredible, but his legacy was basically boiled down to this one game where he won the CL.

It's kind of harsh, because (having done some last-minute research) he was an effective striker who was often blunted by injury, but I totally remember him as a guy who I hadn't really heard of who turned up in a CL final and walloped Bayern Munich out of nothing, only to slide back to Serie A and slide from view again.

Ed - think this post deserves a like. Can someone with the power help out?

Milito that season was the one who should have gotten every praise that Sneijder was getting. He scored all the important goals.

Agree he had a great season, for a not so great striker.
