Team Interval

Batting
1. Sunny Gavaskar
- Avg: 51 with 10K runs best opener in the draft... amongst the best batsmen ever.. A notch above anyone he has
2. M. Atapattu: Avg 39 with 5.5K runs and 16 hundreds a bit of a plod but an very resilient
3. Brian Lara: Avg 53 with 12K runs better than anyone he has
4. Inzamam Ul-Haq: Avg 50 with 9K runs - best Pakistani batsmen along with Maindad
5. Mike Hussey: Avg 52 with 6K runs - Amongst the most solid players around
6. Misbah Ul Haq: Avg 47 with 5K runs - amazing at saving a collapsing innings.. can shepherd tailenders since that's all he did with Pakistan
7. Brad Haddin: Avg 33 with 3.3K runs - Can be of great annoyance

Bowling
1/2. James Anderson & Stuart Broad
- Avg: 27 and 29 and 500/400 wkts a piece Best quickies hunt in packs and together they have picked up more than 850 wickets together... Amongst the most consistent opening pairs of the modern era with the game tilting towards batsmen. Jimmy averages below 22 in the last 4years
3 BS Chandrasekhar: Avg 39 with 5.5K runs and 16 hundreds Anil Kumble before Kumble was. Polio ridden hand and has Viv Richards as his bunny
4. Trent Boult/Stuart MacGill : Avg 29 both and ~200 wikets a piece Trent will bowl in the pace pitch and will be instructed to bowl fast; MacGill on the other 2 surfaces - has the best strike rate of any spinner in modern cricket!

How will I win

At the outset, I think this is a difficult opposition. Mani has hell of a team with an amazing fast bowling pair.

Win the batting paradise and spin track. Play out the pacers track though if it is swinging, Jimmy can wreak havoc

The idea is to play out Ambrose and Akram. Sunil will bore the shit out of them as will Atapattu. LEave every ball outside offstump. Then lay into Zaheer/ Saqlain/ Matthews. Our bowlers will target the weakness in their middle order through swing and spin running havoc. I know he'll try and hype Ian Chappel up but the man has 5.5K runs with 14 hundreds at 42 avg... those are Atapattu numbers

BUT I do think I'm head and shoulders above him in batting (my middle order is a level above his and Sunny is a better opener than anything he has). His middle order, bar Clive lloyd consists of largely avg to slightly above avg bats of Ian Chappel (the lesser of the two Chappel bros), Angelo MAtthews and Graham Thorpe.

Spinners are better - Chandra is better than anything he has. Saqlain wasn't the same entity in tests.. Him and MacGill have the same wickets in the same nos of innings and MacGill has a better strike rate despite primarily operating in Australia!

Quickies - Yeah, his is much better but Zaheer is a bit meh in tests. My striking pair are used to hunt together

Lyon comes in place of Zaheer khan in spin assist pitches.
  • Bowling wins test matches with superior bowling attack spearheaded by Wasim and Ambrose I got better chance to win this 3 match series.
  • Batting opens with G.Boycott/M.Slater(combination of Superior technique and cool batting) we are good enough to see through the new ball.
  • Ian Chappell/C.Lloyd/G.Thrope -All three very good batsmen of spin bowling and their records speak for themself.
  • With Batting deep,as my batsmen's are capable enough to bat till 8.Wasim Akram.
  • Leadership of C.Lloyd can steer this team to victory.

Prath do we have something like a toss to decide who's batting first?

Wait until Akram comeback to get his reverse swing and Yorker’s going:lol:
And don’t expect two many balls outside off stump Ambrose and Wasim make batsmen play more at their delivery that’s why these two best for their respective countries.

I don't think your bowling wins that easy considering my spinners are better than your 3/4 bowler

Not to mention the mountainous gap in batting quality

Gavaskar faced the west Indies bowling unit without a helmet and scored like crazy. I'm sure he'll survive the opening spell.:p

Nah toss might give advantage for a team. This is just to compare which team is the better one. Else teams with 4th innings to bat may have a disadvantage

I don’t think you got superior spin attack tbh,
Yes Chandra is good bowler at the same time we have to agree that Saqlain is much better bowler his peak is much better compared to Chandra, notable thing is Saqlain who is invented of Doosra and most batsmen where clueless when he used broght those into play.
Plus I also got N.Lyon (second most successful spinner after Warne from Australia)

I always go with the stronger bowling unit as top bowlers win you the games. Outside of green conditions Broad and Anderson aren't anything special and although Mani's batting is weaker they should be able to handle Interval's attack 2 out of 3 games. 2 - 1 to Mani imo.

Disagree on the bowling front. Saqlain is as good as chandrashekhar if not Bette and b/w Lyon and MacGill there isn’t significant difference.

Batting wise you have a much stronger team

I didn’t understand the difference in batting we are speaking here Boycott /I.Chappell /Lloyd the core batting against his bowling line up ,it’s not my batting that are facing Wasim and Ambrose .My batsmen are good enough to see through Anderson and Board or Chandra. My batsmen’s are superior against spin bowling.C.Lloyds average against Indian attack comprise of Chandra / B.Singh/Prasanna in India is really good(I can share the stats if needed)
Thrope is very good players of spin and his batting against Warne is well known.

@Mani

Even if you argue that both sets of spinners are equal,on a flat and a spinning track Interval's batting line up is most likely to last longer.. I don't think Slater and Boycott were that good against spin..

At the same time on a green track I do think your team would win.. On a spinning track think @Interval might win..

On a flat one not able to decide if your pace bowlers would do the job or his spinners would..

Manis bowling is better while intervals batting is better..

First I would agree his batting is better comparatively, but one need to understand that my batting comes against attack comprise of Anderson/Board and Boult and it wouldn’t be that difficult for my batsmen to counter that considering my batsmen can bat deep and averages around 43-45 which is not at all bad considering the number of matches these batsmen’s have played.Plus we also need to understand that Anderson and Board where much average apart from England.
Plus my bowers would be in better position to get those 20 wkts compared to his bowling Line up.

@Interval you had build really good side,
It’s unfortunate that we both met in first round.
