If he's flying off to join the tour then surely that means everything's wrapped up - medical, promo shoots, obligatory MUTV interview etc.

Or were they planning to do all that in NY?
He had a pit stop at Carrington and United build their announcements out and do it well with lots of features and interviews, thus they aren't in a hurry to make this official.

New York is one of the biggest and most influential cities in the world. United are in that market and what better way to introduce Onana there and in a big way? He's a marquee signing and it transcends culture/boundaries. He's the first Cameroon GK and possibly African number 1 for United in the Premier League era (at least). Could be wrong, but he's a massive signing for many reasons and he'll get his own due course in time introduction/announcement.

Still not close enough for me on the DONE DEAL close-o-meter.

It needs to be closer.

He said Manchester. Not Manchester United specifically.

You can’t rule out City or FC United of Manchester just yet…

United will post their usual boring templated new signing graphic on instagram and twitter but with no other wording. Then they will wait another 24 hours to release a statement. Then another 24 hours a photo. Then they will ask you to download the MU app, because in 24 hours you will be able to read his first full interview on there. Then 24 hours after that you will see him in a training shirt.

cnuts. And fk off glazers

Which is why Robinho looked so baffled when he was handed a sky blue shirt
No idea how true it is, but I definitely remember hearing that Robinho flew to England thinking he was signing for Chelsea, was told when he landed he was going to Manchester, then discovered that Manchester had two Premier League clubs and he was signing for the one he'd never heard of.

SJ/SJR should copy Onana and just announce themselves.

Oh my, only now realised that S J R turns into this. Was wondering in the take over thread why folks were writing such a long name.
