Abraham like you said very good goal poacher. But also very frustrating player. He need to develop further for that need regular game time.

Unfortunately at chelsea he won't get it. Hope he will do well where ever he plays next season.
Yeah, he needs development and refinement, but the basics are all there: finishing, speed, movement. Properly solid PL and CL-level strikers have made a career out of much less than what Abraham has. Villa would have been the perfect move for him last season before they signed Watkins, but it now seems like it will be Arsenal who gets him.

West Ham would have been a good move for him too, to get on the radar and shop window for a bigger club. While a move to Arsenal just puts him in that purgatory situation where he has to be absolutely unreal to get on the radar of the big 2 in Spain or PSG, otherwise he's stuck where he is.

They’ll fight tooth and nail to finish seventh but will end up finishing eighth or lower.

Fair to say they won't spend big on no 10 now given they just gave him a no 10 means there is a sign full of trust within the club and the manager in him next season.

Good luck to the kid, that's a massive show of faith. Can't say he's looked that impressive

There is still space in the team to have him and a marquee signing. It's a sign of trust but we also know he has his injuries troubles.

He has had fitness issues previously, can play off the left or right as well as number 10, so I'd be surprised if there wasn't some sort of attacking midfield signing to take the burden off him.

You don't just give him a no 10 shirt and decide to sign a marquee signing in the position he plays. You have no European football means if you sign a marquee signing in his position, he will not have enough game times.

As I said previously, he can play all across attacking midfield. Lot of time last season he played off the left while Odegaard played central. That's 1 of the good things about him, he's quite versatile, has ok pace to play wide coming inside without being lightening quick.

You also have Martinelli, Pepe, Saka, Aubameyang who can play on the left. That position already filled in with so many options. You have no European comp too to rotate your players. Never mind rotation, marquee signing is for someone who wants to play regularly.

I'd have ESR, Martinelli, new central attacking midfielder, Saka & Pepe. 5 players for the 3 behind the striker.

Aubameyang I would only play up front through the middle now, & we are likely to lose Pepe & Auba for AFCON.

You might well be right though, we'll see in the next couple of weeks what the club does.

Edit: Forgot about Willian as well, we'll be stuck with him so you'll probably be right.

I'd hate it if Abraham ended up at Arsenal. Its one of those I'm not that interested but you can't have him either situations.

That's exactly how I felt when we sold them Welbeck. I knew we didn't need him, but I didn't want him to play for another PL team either.

You got a youngish right back we can have instead?

If Spurs are selling Kane, letting Abraham go to Arsenal would be awful for them. He'd be perfect. They might end up with another Soldado situation otherwise.

We're flush with those as it happens. Livramento is a gem, and he is on the verge of leaving because his path is blocked by James, who has already seen off Tariq Lamptey. He's only 18 though, so maybe not the 'ready to contribute immediately' profile you're looking for. Could I maybe interest you in 29 year old Zappacosta?

Ehhhh...as much as I've enjoyed the signings of Willian & Cech when they are past their best, I think 3 would just be cruel just now.

Azpilicueta is probably more the kind of Chelsea profile you're into, judging by your purchase history. We can ship him over to you in 12-18 months.

Not this summer it seems. 2 x 21 year olds so far, a 23 year old on the way, another couple of 23 years linked. We're going young this summer.

Not that it would happen, but I think Azpi would actually be a brilliant addition: stability, grit, experience, leadership (as noted previously)...he lacks pace now but we have plenty of that w Gabriel, Holding (White?) isn't slow, Partey, and not-Xhaka.

Alright sure if it makes you feel better you might have a scrap with Leicester City pal but in the last 5 season the highest you've finished is 5th,

16/17 - 5th
17/18 - 6th
18/19 - 5th
19/20 - 8th
20/21 - 8th

United:

16/17 - 6th
17/18 - 2nd
18/19 - 6th
19/20 - 3rd
20/21 - 2nd

Last two seasons we've had progression in the table where Arsenal have had their back to back worst finishes since 1995, i am not trying to bait Arsenal fans, you're just mid table mediocrity and the stats show it.

No I agree with you we have been mediocre these last two seasons, despite winning a couple of cups. But that's mainly due to the manager.

With a top coach these players could make top four or at least challenge.

Abraham is one of the worst strikers to be a starter for a top club.

It's the kind of signing that would cement Arsenal's position further as a midtable club, they should stay away.

Sorry but no - it's not just the manager. How many Arsenal-players would get into United, Chelsea, Liverpool, City - even Leicester ?

Then how comes Emery got a worse squad to fifth and one point from top four in a more competitive season? The last couple of years the teams finishing second, third and fourth have been poor.

Come on, many would get into United or Leicester. Probably not many for Liverpool, Chelsea and City.

Not saying arsenal have some world beaters but it is also not correct to believe that they have players who are mid table level. Just 2 years back emery finished 5th with almost same players. Aubameyang had a poor last season but he is someone who has constantly scored 20 plus goals every season and also won golden boot. Partey has always been classed as a top dm, even many of our fans wanted him. Tierney is a fine lb. Saka we all know how good he is even if he is just 19. Pepe was bought for £72m and came with high promise. Xhaka for all his flaws is a decent midfielder. Laca is a good back up striker to have and outscored likes of martial last season. They also bought Gabriel as their cb and he has looked decent. They have a decent side who with better manager can definitely help them finish 4th or challenge for top 4

I am not saying Arsenal are without potential - but to finish 4th they need to beat either Chelsea, City, United or Liverpool - and there is no way they are close to having the line-up of those teams. Fight for 5th could be possible - but in order to reach top-4 they need one of those teams to have a really bad season. I would still claim that one paper - Leicester also look stronger than Arsenal.

Utd have a better team than Chelsea and arguably Liverpool too. In fact if we sign Varane this summer it wouldn’t be far off the best.

You’re delusional, mate. I wouldn’t take anyone from Arsenal. Literally, no one.

Spurs and Chelsea don't do business with each other. If Kane does go then Ings would likely be his replacement, possibly along with one other.

I disagree with some of that but you've certainly cemented yourselves as a top four team lately.

You might want to wait to actually win something to start crowing about how good your team is. Four years with absolutely nothing really does not sell your opinion.

To be fair, on paper he might be right, or not far off it. However, we all know the game isn't played on paper.

Many Arsenal players would get in our side? Name them...

Silly to think many Arsenal (who finished way off the pace for the last 5 seasons) players would get into the United squad. If we get Varane I don’t think any of your defenders will get in over Shaw, Maguire, Varane and AWB. Pepe and Saka over Rashford and Sancho? Get out of here. Aboomerang and Lackofthreat over Cavani and Greenwood? You’re having a laugh!!
