I understand that. The thing pictured is a moose. Europeans call it an elk because of their bad brains but and elk is actually a different (smaller) animal. I've seen them both in person and the size difference is clear.

At basically every US/Canada border crossing I have seen there are clear signs saying "LAST EXIT BEFORE CANADA" or "LAST EXIT IN THE UNITED STATES" or whichever way it is phrased so unless some roads don't have those I don't understand how you can accidently go too far.
