Naaah he'd be hated, he's excellent but he's Suarez level of cnutish. One of the most disrespected players I've seen. If he played for another team this forum would be in love with him. Very strange.

Perfect description. He can frustrate but when he pulls something off it's magnificent. He's chaotically brilliant.
I remember having this out with @Brwned a while back and he came up with some insanely tortuous logic to try and spin these incontrovertible facts into Bruno somehow being miles more careless in possession than KdB. It seems perfectly simple to me. 3 out of 4 passes (ish) find their team mates. They both lose the ball as much as each other. So all that matters then is how many chances they’re creating with that level of wastage and Bruno comes out of that comparison very well indeed.Bruno 21/22 - 73%
Bruno 20/21 - 74.6%
Bruno 19/20 - 71.3%
KDB - 21/22 - 75.5%
KDB - 20/21 - 76%
KDB - 19/20 - 74.6%
So roughly 73% versus 75% on average.
Of course you would hate him if he played for another team but as a player the caf would love him and he would be considered world class.Naaah he'd be hated, he's excellent but he's Suarez level of cnutish.
Honestly... Rooney might actually be the best comparison for Bruno I've heard in a long time. Obviously he doesn't have the physical traits, but their play styles are incredibly similar in that they just tend to chase the ball, are somewhat mad geniuses on the pitch, and very underrated with both feet. Both also never found the "right" position, and I wonder if Bruno can ever adapt his game to a system enough to find that. Football has changed the past 10 years in that players that work within systems are more important than individual players that standout on their own.The way you describe him, is a bit like Rooney..... (apart from the dribbling) - Which would be a very weird but not altogether terrible comparison.
Nowhere near.Naaah he'd be hated, he's excellent but he's Suarez level of cnutish.
That last part isn't true it's cost us plenty of times when we have been under pressure as a team in a match.I remember having this out with @Brwned a while back and he came up with some insanely tortuous logic to try and spin these incontrovertible facts into Bruno somehow being miles more careless in possession than KdB. The only thing I will say is that Bruno’s habit of very occasionally doing an outrageously weird/bad pass under zero pressure is a bit unusual. I don’t think it’s ever cost us though. So who gives a shit?!
City generally keep the ball better that we do too, 88.3% versus 81.3%. You could probably argue that KDB's stats benefit from playing in a team so well structured in terms of giving each other passing options. Move him to United and it would hardly be surprising if his passing acccuracy dipped that bit more.I remember having this out with @Brwned a while back and he came up with some insanely tortuous logic to try and spin these incontrovertible facts into Bruno somehow being miles more careless in possession than KdB. I’m talking about single specific passes leading to us conceding. When he’s averaging 75% pass completion that doesn’t put his team under any more pressure than any other player with the same stat. That last part isn't true it's cost us plenty of times when we have been under pressure as a team in a match.
I don't think Bruno is on KDB's level personally, he's a level below. But that has nothing to do with his production really, much more with how much KDB offers within the structure of a midfield and building up.
Yup and Bruno can only dream of the constant movement and array of passing options that KdB gets from the players around him at City.City generally keep the ball better that we do too, 88.3% versus 81.3%. Imagine if he was British. One of the most disrespected players I've seen. If he played for another team this forum would be in love with him. Very strange.

Not really. The last time I discussed Bruno’s pass completion % vs KdB’s was with you. So you popped into my mind when it came up again.Weird reason to tag someone
Brilliant player.In all competitions:

In the league alone, he had 71 chances created before the Leeds game, more than anyone else. After that masterclass, I fancy he’s on at least 75 now. Better stats than the much heralded Bernardo Silva, KdB, ESR, Saka, Mount, Grealish, Son, Mane, need I go on? This doesn’t even take last season and the half-season before into account, where he was in the top 10 best players in the world period.
He has been the best thing to happen to us since Fergie retired. One of the best midfielders in the world, and definitely in the KdB conversation, although people aren’t ready to talk about it yet.
Fair enough. Our opinions on Bruno are probably a lot closer than you think. I think Bruno's great. I just don't agree with the Cantona-esque / talisman / he's so good we don't deserve him framing, and arguing against that inevitably means exploring his deficiencies. And we have different views on his passing. No big deal. I think he's a lot like Giggs. Often brilliant, often frustrating. I admire their vision, creativity and fearlessness much more than their execution. I think it's much better for that kind of player to be an essential part of the supporting cast rather than the player you build a team around, and I think we're well on the way to that now.Not really. The last time I discussed Bruno’s pass completion % vs KdB’s was with you. So you popped into my mind when it came up again.
Plus I do think you’re someone that consistently underrates what Bruno brings to the team, which is what this thread is about. I think it’s mainly because I so rarely disagree with you about football stuff (or any stuff) that makes your Bruno bashing stick in the memory.
I think Ronaldo was fantastic too in the first half of the season, considering the circumstances. 14 goals - he could not have done anymore, but he’s unfortunately tailed off now despite the team’s collective improvement. I think Bruno has been pretty good throughout. 7.5/10 for me.Cristiano Ronaldo 'Bad season"
15 goals
3 Assists
26 starts
I think Ronaldo has been well below his standard but putting stats up make him look far better than he has been as is the case with Bruno. Bruno hasn't had a bad season but he's not really been good either. I'd say the maximum you could rate him this season is 7/10.
Pogba literally (quite literally) did the same in the first half. He's our best player. It's a shame for him that nobody else on our team is on his level as we're not able to get the best out of him. Though I suspect, Sancho, when he settles will build a great relationship with him. That assist for Elanga was pure filth. Nobody else on our team is trying that in a million years.
I must’ve missed Fernandes being a racist and biting people then?Naaah he'd be hated, he's excellent but he's Suarez level of cnutish.
Word. Bruno has ups and downs, just like every other great footballer, but he's the best thing that has happened to us since Fergie. Most consistent, most impactful, practically no injuries ever, playing every match. Best player in our squad, impact-wise, by a long mile.In all competitions:
