Bruno Fernandes Out? | Staying at Man United

Bruno isn’t leaving for money, he’s well paid already. He’ll go to a champions league club (one which qualifies thru league position not Europa). I can see Bayern as a destination, Real Madrid possibly as well given the midfield rebuild has not gone entirely to plan. He can slot in as a no. 8/10 at any top club in Europe.

Well he's playing in a country that's supporting genocide. So, yep. Anyway at least he's not moving to MLS, I guess.

What, everybody in the UK 'supports genocide', do they?

Wise up, lad.

If I was already earning 300k a week then I absolutely wouldn't take 1m a week to work there.

Makes me laugh how many people seem to assume that their own lack of principles are shared by everyone else.

Yeah, but genocide

Not really bothered to be honest.

He's been excellent here but we've been very poor in 3 of the last 4 years. It's obviously not his fault but I've been pushing the view that we need a complete refresh and need the culture rebuilt with new faces and new leaders. I'm happy to be done with all players who have been here before or during the Ole era.

Smart teams cash in on players at the right time. At his age it's very unlikely Bruno is a central part of our plans to win the league by 2028/29 so get what we can now.

The problem is even with say a 100 mill payment we probably won't be able to get an adequate replacement in a position of utmost importance.

Any player that could reasonably be considered an upgrade or at least an equivalent replacement is out of reach.

Wirtz is Madrid bound as sure as the sun and the likes of barella and pedri are simply considered untouchable assets for their respective clubs and that's pretty much it.

Not worth the risk.

No he can't. He can't be the big fish in a small pond in Real, Bayern etc as they won't allow it.

No top club would be willing to give him the freedom he had here either. They can't tolerate his untidy play, his hollywood balls.

A Palmer whose form has dropped significantly the last half a season.
That'd be so United to buy him then.
I mean being scared of a poor last half of the season for one of the best young 10's in the world would be very "United" as well.

I guarantee Madrid would be happy to have him.

There is definitely smoke, but whether there is fire is an open question...and what we do here every day is discuss open questions. Would be madness to sell Bruno for less than 125m, but if 125m were offered and Bruno wanted to leave I'd do the deal.

Ok I'll accept 150 million for Bruno... But they also have to agree to buy Onana for 50 million, Anthony for 90 million, and Hojlund for 75 million.

The fact this is still up on the main page concerns me greatly. I don't want him to leave no matter what the cost and I don't think Amorim would want him to leave either.

He is central to our efforts getting back the league title in a few years.

We will sell if its a record bid imo. And i dont trust these people to be able to spend that money properly again. We would need that VVD Alisson kind of window to soften the blow.

There's definitely a price point where we take it, whilst he's exceptional at many things, he also has major flaws to his game. I know he's rescued us at times this season, but we need someone that can retain possession and create. If a big fee comes our way, we should thank him and take it.

Given his age it would be very hard to turn that kind of money down, with a significant rebuild needed. As good as he's been in a mediocre team, is he really more valuable than Cunha and Eze? You could buy those 2 with the money and transform this team.

Selling him would decimate the dressing room, as he seems to be the one who everyone is friends with.

Also, who would be captain? There's a severe lack of leaders in this squad.

Into a championship team?

At £100m+ I would consider a deal. The prospects of Cunha and Mbeumo with a striker in a front three is mouthwatering. Allows us a more balanced midfield pair as well.

If a great offer comes in, it would be malpractice to not sell. I do not care about recent form. Bruno Fernandes is far from irreplaceable and has been at the heart of one of the worst periods in the club's history.

He's been superb despite that, and we don't need to sell him, so no it's not malpractice.

Who would we bring in as the creator though?
Both Mbeumo and Cunha are very much creators as goal scorers. Mbeumo has 66 chances created compared to Bruno's 84, and Cunha has 52. There are far more goal points between these two and Bruno alone. That doesn't make them better players, but one could see how it would improve our attack by quite a lot.

Or alternatively, Bruno has been the only player that has reached levels required despite being in an awful team.

Well that's...one way of looking at it.

It would have to be enough money that we can buy enough players to compensate the loss.

So the figure has to be north of £140m...

Thing is no way we replace him with similar quality without paying over 90m... so players like Wirtz, Palmer etc... who wont come to United anyway would cost similar.

So we have to spend the money over 3 players.

Insane money for Bruno, at age thirty he surely won’t turn it down, we need to get 180 million for him

• Year: £65,000,000
• Month: £5,416,666.67
• Week: £1,250,000
• Day: £178,082.19
• Hour: £7,420.09
• Minute: £123.67
• Second: £2.06

He’s turning 31 in September

It doesn't work for me. Not only am I anchored in Bruno, I don't find reallocation of the funds as a massively sustainable approach.

The players that can elevate a lot of teams like Eze, Wharton, Mateta, Ait Nouri, Kerkez, Semenyo, Mbuemo are all bargain signings. We should focus on better recruitment. The idea that we need to spend big big money to elevate ourselves is wrong.

I don't think we should sell and I can't see him wanting to go there. I don't care about his age. He seems like a bit of a freak physically.
