Bruno Fernandes | Signed

Heh. Anyway, if we go sign Bruno, I think he will cover lots of holes for us, like goals or assists from midfield, especially when Pogba is out. Oh and the set pieces as well. Wont be surprised if he is sometimes played out on the right like how Buendia plays for Norwich or Eriksen played sometimes for Spurs, or how Becks used to play for us. When Pogba gets back, it will only give opponents more to think about as it wont be just him alone who will be out creator as compared to having Lingard on the pitch- I think why Lingard " gets into good spaces" all the time is a a tactic used by opposing teams as they allow him to ball and space as he does nothing with it 99% of the time.

Of course, if Pogba leaves, Bruno will be a direct replacement and we can use the money, hopefully, to strengthen other areas of the team rather than worrying about getting a Pogba replacement.

With Pogba, Lingard, Matic and Young out of the door, I think we should build a team around work rate and talent with Fernandes as the focal point. Id add Zakaria in midfield which will ensure a hardworking core in CM (Zakaria, Fred and McT), then I'd add Zaniolo in RW. The latter had played as CM, mezzala, no 10 and is now he's playing as right sided forward with excellent results in all roles. With Bruno also a hardworker, I think we'll have the ideal platform to exploit the likes of Martial and Rashford to the maximum + it would remove the need to play an anchor like player like Matic who adds nothing to the creativity side of the game. Finally I'd add a striker on the cheap possibly Milik or Piatek who wouldn't mind some competition

AMR: Zaniolo, James
MC: Zakaria, Fred
MC: McT, Periera
AMC: Bruno Fernandes, Mata/Mejbri
AML: Martial, Rashford

Stk: Milik, Greenwood

That team has the solid foundations to do extremely well.

Saw a crazy stat earlier.
Bruno, 14 games 13 goal involvement.

Pereira and Lingard. Over 2 seasons. 73 games 13 goal involvement. Damn.

How are you getting all these expectations?

He’ll improve us no end. Going from Lingard as our creative hub, to someone who is able to create a little more than sod all is such an upgrade it’s crazy.

Is it that difficult for Manchester United to buy players from Napoli, Roma and Borussia Monchengladbach? Especially since

a- Milik is on his last few months of contract and Napoli are in a perfect storm with the owners clashing with most players
b- Roma are probably on sale again. They aren't exactly renowned to pay high salaries either and aren't passing from their best of time admin wise. Totti (club biggest legend, former board member) had liked a post which wanted Florenzi (another club legend) out It would be like Sir Bobby liking a post which said DDG out although he had backtracked out of it. He also criticised Roma quite a few times

Id say Zakaria would cost around 60m, Zaniolo 70m and Milik 20m. We should get 100 - 110m for Pogba which leave us on spending an extra 40m. Comeon its not as if I mentioned Mbappe, Messi and Neymar

I see him fit in the team like this.
If our fullbacks could actually attack, we'd also be able to try a diamond/442 with wide AMs.

I've wanted bruno for 3 season's now. Hope we get him. He'll be a very good all rounder in the attacking sense. Perfect:drool:

I want this to happen (i want anything to happen), but i don't think it will.

My heart says we're getting him and maybe vdb, but my head remembers previous disappointments...

Please note the quality of 85% of the opposition in the Portuguese league.

United win today and Woodward pulls the plug on this. Sporting must be pretty desperate to sell to have come to England to negotiate, their willingness to do business is the sole reason Woodward might get this one done. Could have signed him in the summer, this feels so reactionary.

Anyway if we do sign him (still a big if) then best of luck to him, he is going to need it coming to this team.

I’ve been watching lots of stuff on him this evening. He’s a really good player. He’s going to score and assist 1000% more than lingard.

1000% increase from zero, is still zero! Doesn’t bode well!

certainty Sounds like there is a lot of noise around this. I’m not getting excited yet.

Zaniolo is a good idea - we could use Smalling as part of the deal too. I think Piatek on the cheap as backup/competition for the striker position is excellent value - he provides something different from what we have now, especially if we are looking for a goal against packed defences.

That said, given the midfield is where we need a change most, I'd happily take the risk and sign Fernandes.

And by all accounts he has immense work rate which will make Ole's 4-2-3-1 look like a proper 4-3-3 but unlike with Pereira, who also works his socks off, he has the end product to boot. That part has got me excited because it means we won't have to change tactics a lot against bigger teams. He would add another welcome dimension to our play and hopefully make others look better.

I think a big part why we didn't push through our interest the past summer was Ole wanting to give Lingard and Pereira a chance which they have failed to take. Also, I dont think he counted on Pogba being out of action so often.

I love Zaniolo. He may lack the explosive pace of the typical old fashioned winger but what a player. His dribbling is top notch, he's got a strong frame, he's got superb workrate and his passing is great. He's the old fashioned type of top quality midfielder whom you could play him anywhere in midfield and still do very well (think of a Keane, a Robson or a Scholes). In fact Roma played him as no 10, as mezzala and as Right sided forward. If we're selling Pogba then he should be our prime target.

Id say play Zaniolo as RW (think of him as a clear upgrade over Park) and then release Martial/Rashford on the left. Martial/Rashy, Bruno, Zaniolo and Milik would be scoring goals left right and center.

So 10 days into January and we still have no new arrivals? It's crystal clear what we need for 3 months already! Why were there no deal terms agreed so far? They could have worked out all details by now and just get the deals official at start of January!! I really think we won't get any new arrivals in january and this will be a total shite season!

Instead of reinforcments it looks like we lost Maguire for a month, Pogba for 2, McT for 2 and Young to Inter probably! Happy New Year!!!

+ Mata and Matic losing their legs so suddenly. Both of which have been very very good players in the past.

Football Manager is one hell of a drug.

If United aren't able to buy players from clubs like Roma, a Napoli which are in the middle of a shitfest and Borussia Monchengladbach then I rest my case especially since Milik is months away from the end of his contract. I reckon these signings to be far easier to make then Maddison's or Jadon's

He's brilliant at taking corners and delivers fantastic crosses too.

So was Ashley Young, Juan Mata, Paul Pogba, Alexis Sanchez, Fred, Mkhitaryan and Di Maria before they signed for us. Literally the moment they all put on a red shirt that goes out the window.

So true. Maguire was also dangerous at the end of set pieces, which also went out the window.

That did cross my mind when making the post..

You are not wrong and I'm not challenging the potential requirement for signings. My question is whether we'll target the obvious?
There are clear requirements at CAM, CM and RW but we're not doing anything. You have players of proven quality like Ziyech available in the summer (quoted by Overmars himself) at a relatively reasonable price but we are not even linked with him.

Its not what could be done. Its what Ed & Co. are willing to do.

Still though. Just 2 full seasons and that's the best they could do. Especially when they've had a million chances to do something.

Any more news on the rumour of a United player being part of this deal, loan or permanent ?

As if people didn't watch countless shit free-kick player have taken, they only watch the highlight of player.

It's got everything to do with me, I wanna be a a betting expert and need to know how soccerway tells me when a player is overrated.

I was slow to the pivot and years late to the low block party, I don't wanna miss out on this.

Theres a man with a tipping group on social media, i followed him for roughly two years, his system works ifffffffff you have bet365 accounts with lots of history, annnnnnnnd you can keep discliplined and have no emotions as in go chasing if a tip loses

That did cross my mind when making the post..
Interesting isn’t it? What makes these players with excellent deliveries suddenly lose all their ability to cross?

Is it the people in the box? Do we not train the right runs? Are they taught to change their style of delivery? Or are we just being paranoid and actually their delivery quality is still the same?

Wonder who it would be. Hopefully we're not stupid enough yo offer lingard as there is no way he'd go considering his personal situation.

Last summer we spent all the budget on two decent but not WC players at around 40% above their real value mainly cause they are British . Ole would have also wasted 50m on Longstaff if he could. We then sold Lukaku at the very end only to waste the time trying to sign an almost impossible signing. Regarding ziyech no one signed him so I guess it wasn't as straightforward deal as one thought.

The players I mentioned can be signed and would fit in both ole's and poch's system. Zaniolo might be a tough nut to buy but Roma will sell if the price is right. Hopefully we are wiser now.

My only slight concern, watching the youtube vids, is the fact Bruno seems to be competing against some really poor sides.

The majority of his goals come against players who look, frankly, laughably amateur.

Hey mister, wake up. Nothing about our transfers are realistic.

What we expect or predict in transfers here will eventually ended up with muppets crying.

We can say buy player A or B, but out club will go and get player Z.
