Are you suggesting that Chelsea team was a great team? I certainly don't remember them being great (sure they won the CL, but then they did it again a few years ago with Mount as one of the star attractions.)
They were certainly better than Moyes' and Van Gaal's United, which is what Mata swapped them for.

Well there’s the problem with the question, how great does a great team have to be if a CL & FA cup double doesn’t count?
Something we’d be over the moon with now, in fact, we’d probably give a left testicle for that.
The poster was suggesting that no great team had a player as bad as Bruno at 10, as if we have to replace him to be “great” again. That might be true like if we’re talking league domination and CL. But we’re not only miles off that, it’s impossible with the Abu Dhabi football project in the league.

Can we be a top side again that wins big things with Bruno? Absolutely, as Mata, Mount, Litmanen, Joe Cole, Sneijder are testament to that.

As for true great teams, how many have there really been? I’d imagine if we wanna be great again, we likely don’t have a single player in our current team good enough. Not a single one would start the 2007 CL final for instance, so Bruno would be approaching retirement by the time we’ve build that.

Absolutely convinced huge swathes of fans either don't watch football or don't understand it. Its the only explanation for the supreme idiocy on display regarding fernandes. We should be grateful he's given his prime to the mess around him

Its embarrassing. Pseudo-tacticians who convince themselves they're Rinus Michels every time he misjudges a pass
Only on the caf is this opinion even remotely a thing. All his fellow professionals rate him extremely highly.

I’m convinced one of the high profile bullshitters came up with the theory and folk have simply latched onto it because a) we’re shite and b) Bruno’s mannerisms grate on them.

Frankly though, anyone who thinks Bruno is one of the big problems in this team is short of a few braincells.

86% pass completion again, just the 9 key passes  “problem”

Not just the caf. There are plenty of tweets that get thousands of likes slating him. I will never understand it.

There is definitely a decent chunk of United fans that don't rate him.

This is exactly what's happened. Hes become an outlet for frustration about how poor we are post Ferguson, driven by the overstated criticism of one part of his game and because people don't like his complaining. If we had more Brunos we'd be right at the top

Where the grass is greener.
He can give it away plenty, but if the delivers goals and assists, there's a balance there. Its if it comes to nothing for many many matches it can be incredibly frustrating.
