I beg to differ. For me, you really-really bottle it when you're handed an advantage by your opponent, but you don't have what it takes to get over the line.

Bayern Munich had been offering the title to BvB on a plate for several weeks, and Dortmund were like: "Nah, you can have the bowl. We don't care much about silverware here".

The Heat needed a three-points masterclass to beat a sorry Bulls team just to make it to the playoffs. That was their starting point. Similarly, if Arsenal had lost the title to an 80-points City team, i'd call it a proper bottle job.
You can be Accrington Stanley who Cinderella Story’d their way to the FA Cup final and against all fathomable odds they find themselves somehow 4-0 up in the second half against City but end up losing 5-4, they literally bottled it. Heat’s advantage was that they were 3-0 up in the series and had 4 attempts to win one more game. If they lose game 7 they will have bottled it massively.

Seriously looking at their performances it looked like Mainz and Köln took the league far more serious than Dortmund and Bayern.

Neither did voluntarily bend over as was expected by some.
Never underestimate the desire to be king makers. You can be having shit season but spoiling someone elses on the final day is pure injectable schadenfreude

Conveniently ignoring the fact the opponents are also not cheating, unlike City/pep though. Only so much others can do when you are up against someone with cheat codes.
A third of the teams in the league are sponsored by shady owners while the other Third are twerking hard for their own shady owner to come over

And during 90s, United was the only top team in Europe from the EPL.

Arsenal had to wait until 2000 to do something good in Europe, just to lose to the UEFA cup to Galatasaray.
They were CWC finalist in 94(?) lost to el Nayim's goal of Real Zaragoza.

Dortmund would have bottled it if they had the far superior goal difference

They'd have bottled it if they had a 4 point lead go into the last game!

I can't remember why I joined this war.
This was a bigger bottle job then Arsenal’s collapse
100%. Arsenal couldn't keep up with City's pace, which if you compare the two squads is not that much of a surprise, Dortmund had to beat a mid-table club at home which had folded at their own stadium one weekend before against Stuttgart who might still get relegated.

But the sad truth is, I know that would happen, my only hopes were on Cologne not losing to Bayern which unfortunately didn't work out because Bayern last minute remembered that they are actually winners.

Arsenal still bottled it but there's is more of a 500ml coke bottle

This was a 3 litre magnum champagne vintage bottle from Dortmund

funny how people are blaming city/pep for making the league boring/predictable. It's not city/pep's fault if the opponents are not good enough to topple them.

City/pep can only beat what's in front of them.
It is their fault they've been financially cheating though.

I will never forgive Dortmund for giving all these utter shite banter football accounts such ample material to work with.

Yeah, couldn't have hoped for better chance to win the league.
They probably won't have Bellingham for next season while bayern presumably sort some of their mess out, shouldn't even be close when it's all said and done next season.

People said Dortmund were done and dusted because Haaland left before this season and doubled down once his replacement Haller was out due to cancer before even playing his first match.

So it is possible that Dortmund get their shit together again next season and it's also possible that Bayern will suffer due to board infights etc instead of fixing their issues.

It might not be likely, but it's just far too early to predict what will happen during the transfer summer.

Yeah 12 months is quite a long time in football but historical trends are not favorable to them at all, bayern have a much superior squad and the manner in which the bottled does not bode well.

If anyone wanted a proof that Bundesliga is such a shit league, here it's.
This was a very exciting title race and wonderful final day drama. Yeah the outcome was the same old same old but the context was completely different from the usual. Bayern winning the league in March would maybe support your argument but what happened this season doesn’t.

How exactly? I mean being the only league in europe where the title race actually went to the last matchday doesnt really support your argument.

Even closer, the decisive goal was scored in the 89th minute, the "live champion" was Dortmund, Bayern, Dortmund, Bayern during the match.

Probably only 2012 Aguero in the 93rd minute has been closer

That is all well and good, but it genuinly felt like two underwhelming title-candidates trying to hand it to each other

That was literally Bayern in their worst state. They were awful and had a managerial change midway in the season and by all means didn't deserve the title, yet they still won it because their competitors were total bottlers. BVB won't have an easier chance to win the league again.

More of a proof Bayern can be absolute shit and still will be gifted the league because of how awful their competitors are.

City were not close to their best this season especially in the league yet they won the league with 4 games to spare

It was exciting right until the final whistle thought. Football is entertainment and the Bundesliga title race provided it in abundance.

Are u crazy? City have been relentless this year especially for the past 2 months both in the league and the champions league. One would think you of all clubs would remember the way they schooled you but apparently not.

So how did Bellingham play?

Was he a mighty figure in the face of his teams collapse OR
A complete bottle job whose career will be defined as a Shite the Bed when it really counts.

Clearly it must be one or the other. No middle ground allowed.

Bayern have been winning the league non stop since 2012. That's their 11th title in a row. 11 freaking titles in a row.

Even PSG don't have that level of win rate in France and their league is mocked as Farmers league and shit.

They can't be that good in 11 full years. The reality is the league is shit and they barely have any competition. Even when when they were shit, they were gifted the league anyway by their competitors.

You can't really blame them. People argue City bought their success but Bayern is much farther financially ahead of the other Bundesliga teams than City is ahead of the other EPL teams. It is a systemic issue.

They got very close without Haaland, it is easy to laugh. For all we know this was the last hurrah for Bayern for a while. We'll see I guess.

Heat won in game 7 against the East's top seed. They do not belong in the same discussion.
Clearly it was referring to a scenario in which they lost game 7 after being 3-0 up in the series. It would absolutely be a disastrous bottle job but it didn’t so the whole conversation is moot.
