Trying to remember the rules - but shouldn’t the third be offside? I thought I’d the ball is played forward behind the keeper there has to be two defenders playing you onside?

Arsenal virtually playing a full strength team.
I mean.. we have 5 starting players out, but okay.

Besides, why wouldn't we play a strong side? We're not in Europe so no reason not to.

I am surprised that Pepe and Saka are both starting though, thought one would be rested for Balogun to start up top.

They need to. Got to get a good result for confidence. WBA priorities are promotion, yet again.
Yeah, need to try & get a victory or the knives will be truly out, & like you say to help get some sort of confidence.

To give youth/fringe players some experience. Same reason you never used to play strong sides in this competition under Wenger.

Credit to arsenal for getting the job done, but this is a $10 million vs $230 million squad

Back when we had a deeper squad ye.

Right now the only players who could play that aren't are: AMN, Nelson, Balogun.

Everyone else is injured, has covid, or is about to leave. There's a couple others like Azeez maybe who could play.

I am surprised that AMN and Balogun didn't play over Kolasinac and Saka though.

So Auba isn't finished, he just needs to play at championship level.

Given Ole's luck in cup draws it'll be a Manchester derby.
Feck it, this is a pointless trophy and I'd rather lose to them now than do all the hard work just to fall at the semis.
