100th CL game at the Allianz Arena tomorrow since its opening in 2005. A certain Thomas Müller played in 74 of them :D
He also scored the second most goals in these games (32) after Lewandowski (38).

Some Europa League matches in the early slot, wonder how that happened. Not really bothered to watch any of the two and by the look of this thread nobody else is either :houllier:

Looking forward to the Lazio vs. Celtic match. I also think you should go for Real Madrid v Napoli in Group C. Real Madrid are the current holders of the Champions League and have a strong home record, while Napoli are also a very good team who are in good form. I think it should be a close and exiting match.

It's crazy (and great) that Ukraine still have a domestic league ongoing. Are players exempt from military duty?

Shakhtar Donetsk have 9 points, they could still make it to the knockout rounds.

Glad City fans don't count their treble either

Bynoe-Gitten gets rewarded for having a good game on the weekend. Pretty conservative lineup otherwise, especially with both Sabitzer and Can in midfield over Brandt. Süle is out and Schlotterbeck has had some minor illness these past few days, so we might see youngster Hendry Blank get some minutes, because that bench is almost devoid of any defensive options. The only alternative at CB would be for Terzic to sub in Özcan and move Can back from midfield.

Here's Milan's starting lineup:

They're going to just about nick a win at home to a Scottish team and all, but how does Sarri keep getting decent gigs?

Since Napoli, he's done nothing but underachieve while playing the most boring, sideways football imaginable, and Napoli themselves have gone from strength to strength since he left.

That going from strength to strength started with him to be fair

Fair enough, but it was an Ole second rather than an actual title challenge second, wasn't it?

Just feels like any time I watched his Chelsea, Juve and now Lazio sides, they're just always dire to see. Maybe I'm still just waiting for 'vertical tiki taka' to happen.

That's Celtic confirmed bottom of their champions league group with a game to spare. Brendan Rodgers record in European competition remains woeful.

Yeah they were miles behind and I was annoyed they finished top 4 because I expected them to be woeful in the UCL, but they're very close to qualifying now.

Celtic, man, they just don't do it at this level at all.

Sarri is an awful coach really.. his Napoli side was fun to watch because they had specific patterns of play.. after he moved to Chelsea those patterns vanished and never returned haha but his tactics remained the same.. Sarri is just the italian version of Setien...

Pretty shite line-up from us due to many players injuried..
Especially Rafael Leao absence is huge, without him our offensive output is pretty low. Can't see BVB defence having much trouble vs Pulisic or Chukwueze..

Don't know how Antwerp have looked in the other matches but they didn't look like a team with 0 points in the CL. Cracking match between them and Shakhtar. The players left everything on the pitch.

Sudakov and Zubkov looked good on the ball and Stepanenko led by example.

John Hartson saying it was a clear push for a Celtic pen and then flabbergasted when its overturned...it was the faintest brush/not sure he actually touched him. No bias there :wenger:

They didn't not really from strength to strength between Sarri and Spaletti. Ancelotti time there was underwhelming for the expectation of his profile. Gattuso tenure is exactly like his famous meme "sometimes good, sometimes shite"

Not true. The Napoli that gets into European football places was started with Mazzarri (now returns to be their head coach). He had them finished second and third too and won a Coppa Italia with Napoli that despite some strong run Sarri was trophyless until he picked up trophies at Chelsea and Juventus.

FSW two seasons was a decent stopgap at Napoli before Sarri took over from him. FSW even won a Coppa Italia.

Welp, not looking good for Milan. Giroud's miss might be the difference between CL and no European football at all.

Fair enough. I remember Sarri pushing Napoli the furthest in their title ambitions until Spalletti's triumph. They also played excellent football.

Leipzig showing what happens when you take risks and press up high against City: they may score 5 against you; or they may become flustered by your high press and you are up 1-0 against them

And that's without their talisman Timo Werner!
