As usual, obvious ones playing down ManUtd performance, what a surprise

Garbage Leipzig, another overhyped side on the scene that people have raved about over the last couple of years with a manager dressed like Jim Davidson but hasn't won fecking jot yet. Did they even bother to replace Werner with the money they got for him?
This is ironic coming from a Liverpool fan. Did you feel the same way when your team lost 2 European finals on the trot?

They play completely differently against "big teams".
Way more focused then. You could see it last season or against Atletico last week.
more focussed, yes. Flick kept the high line against Barca and PSG mostly, because its what they do. You cant just move the def line back, adjust nothing else and expect it to bring stability (that is more or less what Kovacs mistake was).
I see the high line as a calculated risk. One couldnt press as high as bayern does, with that level of commitment, and have huge gaps in Midfield because the back four are behind too far. It is pivotal to have super fast defenders just in case, and a sweeping-capale keeper. Which Bayern both has.

Barca are winning to Juve away, and yet, i dont find their performance that good.
Says more about Juve, or the potential of Barca?
Well Juve played really bad, but Barcelona attack was dynamic and inspiring as it hasn't been since 3 years ago at least. Players like Pedri, Ansu Fati and Dembelé are growing with Koeman and there is potential to become much better.

But they still have the defensive problem and it's not going to be solved this year without new players. Without a new top fast CB (to balance the slow Piqué/Lenglet couple) and DM (to replace Busquets) any opponent has a few chances to score in every game with minimum effort. In La Liga this can be enough but in CL, opponents like Bayern or Liverpool create not 1 or 2 chances but many, and even a stellar performance of Messi can't save that.

With Juventus I was really disappointed. Their defending was terrible for an Italian team and the attacking quite erratic to justify leaving so much space to Barcelona players. Dybala keeps being quite irregular, Morata will never be a top player and the midfield was nothing special, it seemed like the best actions in attack were actually coming from Bonucci...

He is, but what brought this comment on? It just seems rather random.
He was caught moaning about 1 of his team mates at half time and telling another not to pass the ball to him as he was rubbish essentially.

I see. That will do the youngster the world of good.
Hearing that from one of your senior teammates at that. Extremely poignant when you remember that benzema was on the receiving end of the vitriol from the Madrid faithful and Ronaldo went out of his way to help him and rebuild his confidence.(article on this) Huge differences in character.

I agree. That Valbuena situation put me right off him.

That's probably akin to me being placed 5 metres ahead of Usian Bolt in a 100m race...counts for absolutely nothing when the race ends.
It counts now. Manchester United defeated current BuLi leader and one of the two most in form german teams; no matter if they're able keep this pace or where they'll be in February.

Don't understand why people keep underrating what United did yesterday

We have had a week of promising signs for our future. Outplay PSG in their own yard, destroy the Bundesliga leaders and had a team who spent 300m on attackers come and park the bus like Jose on steroids 5 days ago.

I'm not dismissing anything United did, I just thought with all the hype around Nagelsman and the team they were pretty poor, esp their CBs. Their supposed system, which works with or without Werner (according to Nagelsmann), looked pretty wank when they met a team that actually know what defending is compared to 80% of the rest of the BuLi. Their overhyped CBs were given a full dose of what to expect from a PL counter masterclass with their high press theyostly get away with in the BuLi.

Outplay PSG:lol::lol::lol:
You did well man but let's not go overboard.
With our game, dude you're just mad Ole didn't get to do the bus parking this time, like about 90% of your fanbase wanted him to do. Its okey maybe next time.

If you don't think we outplayed PSG I doubt you watched the game to be honest. There's been times where we've sat back and got extremely lucky (like the 3-1 vs PSG two seasons ago), this wasn't one of them.

We completley outplayed them. We left 2 or 3 more goals on the table while they rarely threatened us.
Chelsea were on the same time, I guarentee you that you didnt watch the full 90 so youre passing judgment on a game you didnt watch
Why would we park the bus against Chelsea? Your attack rarely threatens us. If we didnt park against Mbappe and Neymar then we arent against Havertz and fecking Werner.

He's mad that Ole didn't "get to" park the bus against Chelsea? What does this even mean? Honestly, your post reads like the sort of child-like nonsensical dross you find on Skysport's facebook comments section.

Instead of saying Leipzig are trash, think people need to give us credit last night. It was a fantastic victory and suddenly the opponent was a trash team. If we end up winning the CL, people would still complain. We just beat PSG away, beat Leipzig home, unfortunately dropped points against a trash chelsea side. After Tottenham match, I think the performances have been really good.

United were comfortable against PSG, their only goal was when martial forgot he was actually defending. Especially when the cavalry came off the bench united were easily the better side.

Ridiculous to laugh at that and just shows you want a certain narrative to be true, yes united fans are famous for wanting us to park the bus?

The arrogance of this guy. Unreal.

We outplayed RBL over the 90 minutes, with Rashford showing some pure clinical finishing and frightening speed.

Also loved what I saw from VDB and Fred!

Simple. People expected PSG to thrash Utd in Paris and Leipzig to give a football lesson at OT. It didn't happen and rival fans are unhappy. Utd now have a very good chance of reaching knockouts and this is making some people uncomfortable because they expected us to drop to Europa.

Erm not really because the progression was pretty clearly evident year after year and we got our rewards but please do remind me what Leipzig & Nagelsmann have won compared to Liverpool & Klopp.

While they finished on the same number of points in BL in his first season as the preceding year, they scored more goals, and had fewer defeats. While they regressed slightly defensively, in their short history of mostly lower league seasons, this was one of their best performances ever in some ways. They also reached the SF of the CL in only their second appearance in the tournament. All this with a middling/decent squad seems to indicate he is doing a remarkable job.

Let's see if RBL can strengthen their squad to make the leap from a good side to title contenders, before we start demanding trophies from them.

The Benzema stuff is strange. As a senior player shouldn’t he be talking to him and encouraging him? Not talking shit about him to other teammates. Strange behaviour

Remind me, how much did you spend this summer just to park the bus against a side that had lost to Palace and got smashed by Spurs in their only home games so far this season?

Fat Frank gone by the end of the season. Guaranteed.

Guess there won't be a late draw for Gladbach today. Plea really is an amazing player for a club like Gladbach.

If Shaktar were winning they would - for the moment - move 6 points ahead of Real with a favourable head to head. Real have to win most of their remaining matches either way.

Madrid still control their destiny.

Get at least 3 points in those two games against Inter and they're in a good position, since they would just have to win their other two games against M'gladbach and Shakhtar.

If they only get one point in those two Inter games, they're in a really bad spot though, especially if Gladbach also wins their second game against Shakhtar.
