PSG are lucky to be ahead thanks to that super soft penalty (is there an angle that actually shows contact?). All Leipzig since. Should be 1-1.

Neymar could easily have been sent off for that yellow he got. Looked extremely intentional. Just hacked him down on purpose by the way he looked at him.

Complete off night for Werner. Being able to bring Havertz, Ziyech and Kante off the bench is the kind of depth that will carry us far. We didn't deserve the win tonight.
Yes, definitely. This and the automatisms already established in passing and defense give the impression of a team well-equipped for this season. But Tottenham is a whole different caliber than what Chelsea faced lately, really looking forward to that game.

Don't know how that wasn't a red for Herrera. Horrible little nob.

Only one point needed to qualify but I can see us struggling against Leipzig if we need points. Simply put, we must win v PSG. Would love to dump them out with a 0-0 bore draw against Leipzig in the final match week.

Paris could've had 2.5 red cars but won after a gifted penalty.
Yea two horror tackles from Herrera and Verrati.

RB dominated the match, but they really have some average strikers in Poulsen and Sorloth, can't put the ball in the back of the net. They've wasted the Werner money on Sorloth and Hwang (who barely seems to play).

Brilliant performances from Upamecano and Konate though, bossed Neymar and Mbappe.

Paris kinda fluked their way to their win tonight in the first place.

Groups are boring so far. Last year was much better.

Probably only Madrid group could be interesting.

Everybody seems to boss Mbappe in the CL

What was impressive about the dominancy of the RBL CBs was that they played front foot football which meant playing a higher line and thus leaving space in behind to exploit and still dominated against a very pacy attack. Konate I thought was superb again.

Just months ago PSG were easily walking all over RBL. It's not just about pacy attack. RBL couldn't cope with Rashford sheer pace.

PSG really misses Thiago Silva. Both his leadership and ability keep thing ticking for PSG. Since his departure, PSG is getting more and more exposed at the back, and their focus is in question. Look like they suffer from hangover of last season final defeat.

Thiago on the other hand has helped improving Chelsea defense, and ability to play out from the back over the time. They may not be dominating or well containing opposition attack, but they at least less prone to give away easy goals.

Just months ago RBL were without Ibrahima Konate against PSG who IMO is their best CB.

The rest of your post concerning Thiago Silva has no correlation to my post.

Group stage seems to be mainly a total borefest these days. Since the competition was expanded and with seeding it's very predictable with only the occasional group or game bringing some excitement.

Single leg knockouts was interesting last year. Problem is they need more games for TV revenue.

Gladbach 2-0 up against Shakhtar. What a surprise run they're having in that group with Real, Inter, Shakhtar. Had they not blown it in stoppage time against Real and Inter, they could be looking at 4 wins out of 4 games where they were the underdogs probably each time.

Dreadful decision and not even reviewed by VAR. If you nullify their attack, they are a poor side.

Not a single VAR interruption in the game, when there probably should've been a couple of red cards of PSG as well.
