Didn't answer, sorry: I don't want to play too many drafts, for time they take (me). So I'll give this one a pass, and probably wait until the 1992-2012 draft hopefully happens sometime.

But I'll watch with interest, as always.

This reply is a bit separate from the draft, but I want to say don't let it discourage you. I won the last one and it was my first win. Having said that, I got annihilated countless times before that, even when I believe I had the better team. You tend to get the hang of it after a few times and spot a few patterns and how certain players are rated. Also people are really great at giving opinions and feedback and you learn loads. Afterwards, you can bring your own ideas to the table and have fun just being a manager and eventually you might just win one yourself.

Didn't look at the block list properly and been getting excited about building a team around Kaka only to see him blocked

Important note added to the OP, but I'll add it here as well.

* IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING POINT 12 - You are free to get creative with the Christmas Tree formation and various different versions or perversions of it will be accepted.

Would narrow wingforwards be accepted? Or is this against the spirit of the criteria?

Anything is a Christmas tree if you put presents under it.

It's a 4321 right fundamentally, right? You can experiment with the players, but tactically it should remain true to it.

Really hope 541 or 5311 type variations are not allowed!

Depends on what you have in mind and if it fits a Christmas Tree or not. It you're thinking 4-3-3, then probably not. Happy to clear anything via PM.
to me it should be 4-3-2-1 and depicted as such. You can add different roles and explanations but wingers IMO shouldn't be allowed for example

Agreed. Unless we're tight with the 2 in the 4321 it can just turn into a standard 433

Not playing this draft, but you can't deny there are all kinds, Edgar.

I'm against a 4-3-3 if that's what you guys are asking.

It's a Christmas Tree, but not necessarily an Ancelotti one (he's not the only manager who's used it in any case). Other variations are accepted.

Been refreshing for ages as I was worried you would take him.

I'll take probably the most flexible player for the formation.
