Christopher Smalling - Tribute for the man with the big chest and high voice

A few good men from Fergie's era. Always love his defending style, and has kept some world class players in his pocket.

A good pro that he always wants to play, and Serie A is a good League to prolong his career.

So much money spent and they were fine. Obviously Blind has his health issues now, but both fit would back them over any of our current crop.

Best wishes to him! Hope he has a nice tail end to his career out there. Would have preferred him to stay here but, the club wants a ball playing CB back, apparently. I don't think that should be a limitation on a defender as they are supposed to try and keep the ball as far away from the goal as possibly which I thought he was quite good at. His aerial strength will be a miss.

Smalling was a world-class defender for a period under Van Gaal, but unfortunately he never found that consistency that the elite CBs have (injuries played a role in that obviously). Ah well he was one of our most likeable players regardless, best of luck Mike.
