Actually really interesting draw, a lot of teams playing each other who we haven't seen to play for some time.

Why? Other than the likelihood that the games are very boring.

I think "nice" here means "Oh, at least it's not Atalanta".
Atlético are thuggish and full of annoying players, constantly moaning, crowding the ref, time wasting, stuff like that. Simeone asks his team to win no matter the cost or the manner, so it'll be two annoying games. We should have too much quality for them, simple as, but they're tough opponents compared to the others which were possible before the draw (Atalanta, Lyon, even Dortmund).

That’s a great draw for Atalanta. Would be pretty cool if they make the quarter finals.

Annoying. Worst draw we could possibly get as far as I’m concerned.

Nice to see City not draw Shatka Donuts for a change.

Liverpool perfect draw against a team gets nosebleeds in the opposition half

All round some cracking game there.

C'mon Ole....get us in the CL please

It was a bit of a joke as I was expecting Dortmund-Spurs in last 16 last year to be a 50/50 tie. Spurs won about 4-0 on aggregate. I think if Spurs can press them well they can certainly score a goal or two v their defence.

Yes tough one for Liverpool. Atleti aren't as strong as last few seasons but they're still a nightmare to knock out over two legs.

Jose will walk over them. I'm not English.
My prediction is that Nagelsmann will wipe the floor with Mourinho. Already see Mourinhos dumb expression in his face when he realize it, and his later rant on the pressconference.

Hasn't Nagelsmann struggled in europe so far? I know Leipzig won the group but they didn't get ahead of any big hitter, just benfica and Lyon. Will be a good test anyway.

Spurs will easily beat Leipzig. Their manager is inexperienced

I don't know why but I feel like City will have a historic performance vs Madrid. Like a 4-0 win at Bernabeu or something like that

He "struggled" in the EL with Hoffenheim. You can't compare that. His games in the CL with RB are the first ones. And they made it through the group stage.

Sorry, how has he struggled then? Or are you referring to the the previous season?

English teams are pretty much the strongest teams in the competition. The familiarity breeds a sense of mediocrity.

Not wiping the floor, but it will be a very even match. In one side RB Leipzig who is pretty much a very suffocating team when they are on attack mode, but when they need to step back (because you can't press the whole game) they are far from being a team that copes well with the defensive part of the game.

Atletico are a very limited team with a big lack of offensive talent. Nothing to do with the best years of Simeone's team this past decade.

Liverpool have nothing to fear.

Liverpool to get Atalanta, put your mortgage on it.
Odd this shout - Liverpool haven't had typically 'easy' draws in the past two seasons when getting through the knockout stages and to the two finals. There are occasional weaker opposition but that's going to happen when you play so many knockout games. City on the other hand...about time they got someone decent that isn't English.

Not really. But it's hard to argue that Spurs would have been better off being drawn against Barca, PSG or Juve.
Leipzig are the exact type of team that cause Mou all ends of trouble.

He's struggled to cope with high energy pressing sides since he was at Real.

This is the logical predictions with a few exceptions. But knockout games bring a lot of unpredictable events. Real Madrid is the best example of that: playing poorly on league games while winning 3 UCL titles in a row.
