This got me going a bit and took a while before I could settle for the final product. After a lot of choppin and changin came up with this.

4-3-3
GK Schmeichel

RB Semedo
CB Vestergaard
CB Dunk
LB Shaw

DM Rice
CM Kovacic
AM Grealish

RW Salah
FW Kane
LW Sterling

Probably get crucified for not getting Fernandes in, but with onus on finding the right balance he'd be on the bench.
Fancy having a go?

Surprised people are putting Semedo in as I think he's been rubbish.

Patricio has been the worst shot stopper in the PL by a distance:

Piracy on the High Seas.
Harry Kane
Jack Grealish — Bruno Fernandes — Mohamed Salah
Mateo Kovacić — Wilfred Ndidi
Lucas Digne — Jannik Vestergaard — Rúben Dias — Tariq Lamptey
Illan Meslier
  • Gündogan is unlucky to miss out; in the form of his life but Dias offered prime positional value. Won't be missed that much because of Grealish and Bruno.
  • Meslier in goal is a stylistic preference. A bit error prone (vis-à-vis someone like Pope), but he's given a good account of his abilities in a hyper-aggressive team.
  • Love the makeup of the Front 4: plenty of goals, creativity and overall footballing adroitness!

for me defense is key. so:

GK Pope
LB Shaw
CB Van Dijk
CB Diaz
RB Lamptey
DM Ndidi
CM Kovacic
AM Grealish
LW Son
RW Zaha
CF Calvert-Lewin

stable at the back strong mid and goal-scoring forwards

Was gonna put Raphinha on the wing instead of Salah and have Van Dijk instead of Vestegaard for the hardest defence about but Salah’s just up there ain’t he

No chance, that team would concede far too many goals to win the league. The defense is a bit meh and the midfield is far light defensively. The attack hasn't won a trophy in their career so lacks the experience for a title challenge.

I've done the maths, this is the ultimate team. 68 goals from midfield forward - no doubt PL winners.

Surprised more aren't going for Rodri as their City pick. He’s one of the most rounded midfielders we’ve seen for years.

Perfect team. But I’d drop Pope, Saka, Digne and Grealish for Zaha, Rui Patricio, Tierney and Richarlison.
