It’s a tough one, with hindsight maybe, but we had no idea how far we ‘should’ have been willing to fall, 7th seemed an absolute disaster and in many ways that was, but we had no case study of a manager leaving a dynasty in recent times to compare too. It certainly felt overdue by the time we sacked him.
In fairness, Ole took us to 3rd and 2nd, despite the mitigating circumstances of those two seasons and deserved to start this season as manager. He is now overstaying his welcome though and undoing all of the good work he had done prior.
