We really could have done with signing Alvarez. Was a low risk buy at less than £20m. Same with Enzo Fernandez.

A pressing striker who can be trusted in front of goal. Chance'd be a fine thing.

The case overplaying instead of just punting it forward and trying to win the 2nd or 3rd ball. Overcomplicating things against better opponents always gets you in deep shit.

Australia's only chance is to bring on Kewell, Viduka and Cahill. Even with them all in their 40s now they'd all probably have more of an impact than the limited attackers they have now.
