Great to see our best player commit himself to the club. Hopefully some of the absurd criticism he gets will now quiet down

Great news, hopefully he's over the trauma of the WC and last season and can get back to his best.

Superb news. Top GK who just needs to regain his concentration to get back to his old levels. Good to have this position resolved and we move on to other pressing concerns eg Midfield and Attack.

Great news. Now his head will become more focused and he can get back to making the incredulous saves we know him for. Dave stays.

He seemed a bit more relaxed this past weekend... Hoping he's back on top of his game without that distraction hanging over things.

Good news, hopefully he can build on last week's performance. Glad it's not long contract so we can still sell if he doesn't improve.

Really glad he's signed. He might return to his world class very best, he might not - but losing our best player like this would have looked terrible.

Cuts out the shit from last season, then he's adored by all.

I'm sure with his future sorted, it'll be a De Gea loving environment soon enough. He might not be as marauding as Ederson, or a bit of a baller like Alisson, but very few keepers have games like the one against Spurs last season, or the one against Arsenal the season before.

A brilliant player, great servant and I'm sure he'll be back to his best.

Good News, one of our consistently proven players. Yes he's had a dip in the last few months, but hopefully with his future resolved he is focused at the task in hand again and gets back to those levels.

Also it means we have one less position we have to focus on as a part of our rebuild.

That's great. Great for the team, great for the club as one less headache for next summer and now hopefully he can get back to his best, where he wins us points by doing only things can do - #DaveSaves

Good

At least we finished with this ongoing saga and can concentrate on more productive issues

Finally this has been put to bed. Hopefully he’ll find some form and consistency again.

Not as excited as I would have been a year ago. Hopefully doesn't come back and bite us.

Good news. Hopefully back to his best very soon too. To think some wanted him sold and Romero given a chance as our #1
