One of Ole's faults us that he likes to play it safe. He will play De Gea until it's painfully obvious he shouldn't be starting
I think it's a pretty tough decision but he ultimately has to take it. We have to move on.

Yeah I tend to agree, although Conte has a hard on for Lukaku for some reason and they were offering good money. Not sure where people are getting the idea from that Ole wouldn't bench him just because he earns a lot. Ole also shipped out Sanchez and Lukaku, who were on big wages and cost a hefty fee (in the case of Lukaku). Not like he played it safe and cautious there.
Is that a fact? If so I'm surprised the media (commentators especially) never bring that up, it's a sexy tidbit.Obviously.
The end of last season had already been painfully obvious to many of us. Yet Ole still decided to extend his contract with a ridiculous salary. I just can't see him being dropped in the foreseeable future (hope I'm wrong). One of Ole's faults us that he likes to play it safe. He will play De Gea until it's painfully obvious he shouldn't be starting
de Gea is not only the highest paid goalkeeper in the world, but also the highest paid player in the league after his contract extension. Is that a fact? If so I'm surprised the media (commentators especially) never bring that up, it's a sexy tidbit.
We like to brag about how our second best goal keeper is the best squad keeper in the world. If so then there's absolutely no reason for him to be on the bench if our first choice is underperformingRomero needs to start the next game. The odd mistake is expected but De Gea is making them far too often now. Romero and Henderson need to be given their chance.
We should offer Chelsea De Gea than for the same price as then we get his wages off the books and pocket 50mil and we then have a young English GK whom could be potentially the world's best for years to come at Manchester United.Alan Nixon reporting that Chelsea are ready to offer £50m for him and are hoping the choice between another loan at Sheffield United and first team football at Chelsea competing for titles could sway him to join the blues.
Henderson is right now a better goalkeeper than Kepa in August 2018 = £72m for the transfer fee of Kepa (I know it was a release clause) + £20m because Henderson is english + £28m because we would let him join a rival therefore £120m would be a fair price Ms Granovskaia.Alan Nixon reporting that Chelsea are ready to offer £50m for him and are hoping the choice between another loan at Sheffield United and first team football at Chelsea competing for titles could sway him to join the blues.
They likely wouldn't pay anywhere close to the same amount for De Gea imo.We should offer Chelsea De Gea than for the same price as then we get his wages off the books and pocket 50mil and we then have a young English GK whom could be potentially the world's best for years to come at Manchester United.
Winner Winner chicken dinner!
People need to watch Henderson more, he has mistakes in him too. He's protected by a very defensive back 3 at Sheffield.
We have problems in our team but DDG is not one of them. We need to back him, not bin him after one off season. If someone offers £40m for him then yeah sure, elsewise there's no point to it.
This season Sheffield have an xGa of 37.9 and they've conceded 25, while we have an xGa of 30.6 and we've conceded 30. So the simple answer is no, de Gea is better protected by the defence (yet concedes more) and he is nowhere near a top quality keeper. That's a good point .I think alot on here have jumped on the Henderson bandwagon. I personally have never seen him play so I can't judge his qualities other than what I read and hear about him . Like you point out maybe he's protected alot more by a defensive set up . What's he like with his feet because under Ole he needs to be decent on the ball . Yeah DeGea is making way to many mistakes the past 2 seasons but he's still a top quality keeper .
30mil then...we can put the money towards the Sancho deal. They likely wouldn't pay anywhere close to the same amount for De Gea imo.
I would be extremely happy if that was the case. I've never rated him highly and completely agree with Roy Keane that he's vastly over-rated.30mil then...we can put the money towards the Sancho deal.
He is making a few mistakes but I don"t agree with Keano that he is vastly overrated but I think that Roy as good as he was a footballer is taking his image as a no holds pundit a little too far.I would be extremely happy if that was the case. I've never rated him highly and completely agree with Roy Keane that he's vastly over-rated.
He's also not in the same league as Schmeichel/VdS because both the Dane and Dutchman performed at the highest level for club and country while De Gea has been mediocre at European/International level. You don't become the best by just performing at domestic level.
It's the journo writing the piece that's important and not the outlet he/she is working for. Alan Nixon is a good journo and Chelsea's interest in Henderson has been in the news for some time now.He is making a few mistakes but I don"t agree with Keano that he is vastly overrated but I think that Roy as good as he was a footballer is taking his image as a no holds pundit a little too far.
In regards to the original piece by the journo from the Sun; This tabloid for as long as I have read it is the most guilty of trying to pull the name of Manchester United into any article that they can think up and this is the latest. If Chelsea have a budget of 50mil for a new GK then let us see where it takes them because reading things that Hendo has said is that it is his boyhood dream to be the no.1 at Utd and I think that is what will happen.
The sad thing now though is that after this b/s story people will now say that Hendo has links to Chelsea.
I suppose an argument can be made that all the top clubs are interested in all the top players and that is always going to be the case so there are always going to be links potentially. It's the journo writing the piece that's important and not the outlet he/she is working for. Yep. Deserves his chance as has never put a foot wrong for us.We like to brag about how our second best goal keeper is the best squad keeper in the world. If so then there's absolutely no reason for him to be on the bench if our first choice is underperforming
I could see Chelsea as a destination for de Gea. But I suppose they might want to give Kepa a bit more time. They wouldn't want to look silly if de Gea keeps declining and Kepa starts to fulfill his potential elswhere. We should offer Chelsea De Gea than for the same price as then we get his wages off the books and pocket 50mil and we then have a young English GK whom could be potentially the world's best for years to come at Manchester United.

Why notSurely you can't be one without the other
Why not
So you can be the highest paid GK in the world but not in the PL?
I don't think you thought this through
It's quite the opposite, it says highest paid keeper in the world and also the player in the league .
He could be highest paid keeper in world and yet not be the highest paid player in the league both could be true.
I don't think you can read.So you can be the highest paid GK in the world but not in the PL?
I don't think you thought this through
Mate, I think you're misreading him saying player for goalkeeper. Best paid goalie in the world, best paid player in the prem. How could it be true? If you're the highest paid keeper in the world then obviously there's no one else better paid anywhere. What you say is totally illogical.

If he's the highest paid goalkeeper in the world but Agüero makes more money than him then he's the highest paid GK in the world but not the highest paid player in the PL.How could it be true?
