Did we sell anyone? Big summer fire sale (supposedly)

So it looks like we get 51m for Maguire, Fred and Kovar combined.

So £8.6m up front, I'm guessing another £1.4m or so over the next year or two, and then potentially £5m in bonuses.

That's pretty decent considering we also get his £120k per week salary off the books. If you'd asked me at the start of the summer, I would have guessed only about £5m.

The turkish league will suit him as well. So it's a win-win.

2 weeks left. As things stand now;
Henderson is staying. McTominay is staying. Maguire is refusing to leave. No interest in Williams.

4 players worth 80-90 mil who will barely play this season.

So Kovar is also officially sold now.
Whom else could we sell?
- Henderson
- Maguire
- Bailly
- Williams
- VDB
- McTominay
- Martial

We need some sales rapidly to fund bringing in some more players that's for sure

You can't help but laugh (cry) if we end the window with Maguire, Henderson, and Bailly still on our books.

Well this also hasn't turned out as we hoped so far. How are VdB (!), Maguire, Henderson, Bailly and Williams still here?

They’re on great contracts and want their money. Who would have know! Also who at the club didn’t realise when players take a pay cut at a new club they want their contracts that the ‘club’ have agreed to break being honoured.

We really have to be right up there as the worst side for wheeling and dealing in the market, everton come to mind but they got 60 million for Richarlison, if it was us we would probably get half of that

Too many wasters at the club like Williams, Bailly and seemingly Maguire who are too happy to have a professional football career in which they don’t actually play any football. Dickheads.

To shed some light on how good we are with disposing of redundant players, within the top 10 highest outgoing transfers ever we still have Beckham, Stam and Veron who all left over 20 years ago.

We are unable to sell anyone and we love to accept and reward mediocrity. There isn't another club in the world this inept at getting rid of players.

Why are we having to wait to sell players for FFP reasons yet chelsea are buying a new player every other day for big money.

help me understand.

Chelsea have sold players. The Mount sale alone would've freed up around £250m of allowable FFP spending.

And Maguire and McT at 30 each would have been there IIRC.
No use crying about what could have been now. *sighs*

Why is it that Chelsea seem to be able to make huge sums of money off their youth players but we are selling ours for a few million here and there.

We clearly are levels behind the likes of Liverpool, City and Chelsea with making a success of the youth system

We've apparently been all about selling players for the last 3 years but it hasn't happened. We're horrible at selling players. plus a lot of them don't have much value because they've flopped so badly here and they're on high wages. Who's going to want Brandon Williams? High wages for a lower-level PL player that has anger issues.

They would both immediately go into top 5. In fact Elanga is in top 10.

Our youth players simply aren’t that good anymore. Hugill, for example, struggled to make an impact in the National League last season, McNeill the same in League 2.

Why are we keeping sancho? Either try to move him on or pellestri, there is no point hoarding all these wingers and we have mount that could fill in there as well to try and make some use of him.

To be honest I would be looking to move bruno on as well whilst there is money to made from him, let's not keep making the same mistake of clinging to a player until they hit past their prime with no resale value, we could get 40-60 million in this market for a team who's set up is better suited to him, we should be ruthless instead of complacent

the state of the club is shambolic and nothing will get better with Glazers in there, all protests seemed to have died out, should be priority number one to get them out

Fecking depressing really.

So many deadwoods are still lying around wasting wages, resources and derailing our transfer plans.
