It also sounds identical to how Wayne Rooney pronounces his name.Ironically Rayne Wooney sounds almost identical.
I stole this joke from someone on here.

He was actually a valuable part of the team. He was content with doing all the work that guys like Sneijder, Vaart and Van Persie didn't. Even played right back in the world cup semi's. Also was a sure thing as a penalty taker which we really need with all the bottlers we've had in the past. You can argue he didn't perform as well for Netherlands as he did for clubs.
Not true at all. He did all the work for the star players as Kirk has said. He had the same role Benzema used to have when Ronaldo was the main guy at Madrid. He unselfishly did all the hard work but it wasn't noticed until he was retired. Maybe he was better a better club player but he wasn't a bad performer for the Netherlands. And he could also be a little bit dirty which I liked because it showed how much he wanted to win the World Cup in 2010.You can argue he didn't perform as well for Netherlands as he did for clubs.

He's the defensive midfielder of strikers. No one notices what he does until he's gone.
