Not my words, but the words of Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Ratcliffe circulated an email to the club’s staff to describe the tidiness of the club’s IT department as a “disgrace” while adding that “frankly the dressing rooms of U18s and U21s” were not much better.

He said that the standards of cleanliness at United’s facilities would not be acceptable at INEOS and “we are a chemical company.”
I think Manchester United needs to clean their act and their facilities up. How much is the hourly rate for a cleaner these days?

Why don't you apply and find out? Could be your calling in life.

The IT at my first company was run in our office by one guy. He looked a bit like that Dennis Nedry fella from Jurassic Park (the one who got spat in the eye by the dinosaur) and he breathed like Darth Vader with Asthma.

This was 1997 so right at the start of the internet in offices, and he'd often stay late. One day, we came in and the police were all over the place. Turns out he was downloading and burning CD's with thousands of child porn pictures, and using company computers and equipment to do it.

You've done your time though, it's time to put all that behind you

Personally I would be happy if the systems worked as they should - some papers floating around the room I couldnt care less about

If you want to present yourself as a top modern organisation everything within the organisation has to be feel modern. The thing that will be interesting to see is whether INEOS understand that in order for things to "feel" modern they also need to increase spending on making things modern.

U18 and U21 dressing rooms need to actually be new and sleek, staff need to be employed to keep it looking good, and equipment needs to be upgraded. It's all well and good to say "keep things tidy", but often it's a result of not investing enough in making sure things are easy to maintain and keep looking top notch.

Why does everything get leaked to the media?

Jim is right to point it out and it should just get fixed immediately.

How can the players perform on the pitch, knowing that the IT department is dirty?

Seriously though, seems like Jim is taking a serious interest in the state of the club on all levels, which is a good thing.

Agreed its a good sign, that he wants even the less key profile areas to be up to standard

I’ve seen the e-mail and although it is very professionally written, he is clearly extremely annoyed about it.

not only the IT department has their names dropped either.

He makes reference to the size of the club and the undertone is clearly about how embarrassing it is for a club like United to be looking like this
