I don't know anybody who does. It amazes me that they've kept it going for so long. Surely it's losing them money? Even the most hardcore fans seem to avoid it, given that it comprises reserve matches and shit opinion from ex-players.

The only genuinely interesting things to come out of that channel get reprinted in the press anyway (Keane's rant, Ferguson interviews, etc.).

Is there anyone here that actually has it? And if so, why?

I had it for about half of last season because they had a promotion on it which meant it cost next to nothing. It was good for watching the reserve games.
I remember someone mentioned on here a stupid stat of something like 20 million people subscribe to it worldwide, find it hard to believe that many though.

Therein lies a strange contradiction.

If, as you suggest you dont know anyone who has it, it would therefore follow that you havent got it either.

If you havent got MUTV, then how do you know what is on it ?

If you dont actually know whats on it, then how come you see fit to comment on the quality of it, ( please bear in mind you dont watch it, and as you dont know anyone that does, where do you get your knowledge from).

Answers on a postcard please, addressed to "yet again I spout off a load of bollocks without having a frigging clue what I am talking about).

I got it for the USA Tour friendlies a year and a half ago and have had it ever since. I can rarely make midweek games and as the reserves are always on in midweek it's good to be able to watch their games and the highlights of the under 18's. United have a proud tradition of bringing young players though and football is about more than just the 1st team to many fans. MUTV gives the reserves a wider audiences and some of the youngsters we have are worth watching. As for the theory on the ex players and their shit opinions - I don't subscribe to that thought. At the end of the day most of them revert back to being fans when they stop playing and we all have varying opinions. Paddy Crerand is a legend too.

You took the words right out of my mouth.

I once read the Sun you know. It had a very boring article about Pandas, and from that I deduced that China must be a very boring place....

Christ, do you watch everything on television before deciding whether it's interesting?

If I see Gardener's World in the schedules I will give it a miss. The same applies to "Paddy Crerand's Olde Time Ramblings" or "Paul Parker Tells It Like It Is (Subject To Approval From Ferguson)".

It does lose money, but that's how the club run it, it's more as a service to the fans than a way to make money.

The only good stuff on it are the reserves and Paddy Crerand.

It can be interesting, shows some decent programs. The fit blond that used to work with barney (that was ages ago) was fit :-) but they've not replaced her though mandy henry is quite pert. If they brung back blondy, her name escapes me then it'd be even better...

Erm but given that you dont have MUTV, even it were interesting you still wouldnt be able to watch it would you......

Why do you look for what to watch, on a TV channel you cant watch in the first place.....

Why do you look at women in bars if you know you can't get one in the first place?

Erm would you mind answering my point before trying to come out with a completely inane, argument stopping, childish comment.

Why do you look for what to watch on MUTV, when you dont have it and wouldnt be able to watch it even if you thought it was interesting.

You are a bit of a div really, arent you..

trip if a fans hardcore why'd he/she ignore the reserves? Maybe they're 'softer' then they claim to be...

Let me put it into simpler English for you.

You said, and I quote

"If I see Gardener's World in the schedules I will give it a miss. The same applies to "Paddy Crerand's Olde Time Ramblings" or "Paul Parker Tells It Like It Is (Subject To Approval From Ferguson)".

Now given that you dont have MUTV, then it follows that no matter what is on MUTV, interesting or not, you are going to give it a miss, because quite simply, you cant watch it anyway.

Why do you look for what to watch, when you cant actually watch it anyway.

What's so hard to understand, you intellectual cripple? I looked at what is on MUTV before deciding whether to subscribe to it or not. Since 95% of what is on there is utter shit, I choose not to subscribe.

Simple really, wasn't it?

The ability to make decisions is critical. You should perhaps learn to be a bit more discerning. For example, when you're in Lidl looking for pies, instead of piling them all into your trolley regardless of their flavour, maybe just choose the ones you know you like. It'll help your wallet and your ever-expanding waistline, you corpulent cnut.

Watching the fantastic football played by our reserves last season was a joy to behold.

It was football played the way you wish our 1st team could.

Despite all the missing players out on loan... the team is doing pretty well this season too, albeit that the standard of play is a little less than last year due to the amount of debutants at the moment.

Or perhaps in his instance, even more stupid than they appear to be.... (which believe me, is a feat in itself).

also... Paddy Crerand is not only a top bloke... but a fantastic red as well.

He speaks from the heart about all things United... and you just have to love him for it!!

£72 a year is quite a lot to watch the reserves on telly.

What do you have against Paddy? He's a legend, lives and breathes United and will do until his final day. He gets a little carried away sometimes but that is one of his attributes that makes him admired by many.

I keep meaning to cancel mine but I'm too bloody lazy. Paddy Crerrand is a legend but him and Steve who's'it must be contenders for the worst commentary team on planet football.

Not for me it's not. I'm a skint student, but I honestly really enjoy watching our reserves that much that I am happy to pay my £6 a month.

I appreciate not all people will agree with me on that, but it's a personal choice.

I got to see Rossi, Jones, Blake, Pique, Martin etc etc play last year... and believe me... until Blake broke his leg last season, he and rossi were fecking amazing to watch and well worth the £1.50 per match I paid (based upon 4 games per month)

The reserves are class, well worth the cost, hell Paddy is worth it.

So lets look at this inane ramble in slightly more depth.

You wanted to know what was on MUTV, so you brought The TV TImes.

Firstly, that is rather silly, as to get MUTV you need Sky, or cable, and in that you get a "programme" listing. Which tells you what is on the channel. Why would you buy the TV times when you can get it for free off the TV. Not the actions of a particularly clever person is it.

Secondly, assuming you arent as thick as you appear, it would be rather dim to not take up the free "try before you buy" service that MUTV offers on quite a regular basis, in which you get a free taste of what its all about. That then gives you a rather good idea of what it contains. A bit better than scanning through a mag wouldnt you agree. Again not taking up the "try it free" option is not the actions of a particularly bright person.

Thirdly, having Sky TV access myself, I know very well that MUTV offers the chance to watch matches from the past. Would it not be fair to assume that Man United "die hard" supporters would in fact find them very interesting. Anyone who supports Man United and wants to watch them on TV would find them quite informative wouldnt you say..

Finally, you mention the fact it contains "boring" stuff such as current players, and old players discussing United, wouldnt it be slightly logical to assume that a TV channel created for Man United supporters might actually want to discuss Man United. If you dont want to know what is happening at Man United, then why would you even consider subscribing to MUTV, because you clearly dont want to watch repeats of games, you are not interested in the reserves, you dont want to hear the opinions of players, past and present. What is it about Man United that you want to watch ?

I think he would firstly need to go away and find out who Paddy Crerand was, before offering an insight into why he finds him boring.

Another point just thought i would bring up.

Given Trip Fontaine doesnt go to many games, hasnt posted on here for well over a year before returning from the states, then how does he know what the "hardcore" fans do or do not do.

Who are these hardcore fans he talks of ?

I forgot to mention the old games too!!! Nothing like flicking through the channels on a boring Thursday in front of the box and seeing that a repeat of the CL semi 2nd leg v Juve in '99 is on!!!

MUTV is a part of a sports package on a "digital iceland" which is a digital broadcasting network over here, so I would imagine a lot of people have it because of that here at least anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if there were similiar deals ongoing in other countries.

Oh you mean the boring games that no one wants to watch.... Not even the hardcore reds.

;) ;)

Anyone who doesn't respect and enjoy listening to Paddy must be a cnut.

My parents still subscribe from when I forced them to get it years ago, whenever I go over now to watch the first team on sky, MUtv is pretty much all I watch for the build up to the game. Reserves, under 18's and Paddy, can't ask for much more than that.
