I am less likely to watch the rest of the weekends game if say we start the weekend getting smacked up in the 12:30 kickoff. Although I've got to the point where us losing isn't strange at all, so if the other matches on tv are good ones I'll still probably watch.

I can watch shitty football no problem. Going to a Hungarian Division 2 relegation decider was one of the highlights of my spring.

Top level football makes me miserable because it reminds me how far away United are. It's as if the real top sides are playing a different sport.

I still watch every game but no longer get excited and longer get that 'come on United!' feeling like another poster said. Now it's just waiting for the inevitable. If the team could show a bit of fight and at least a bit of football intelligence it might be different but this is quite honestly the worst United team i've ever watched in 30 years of supporting them. Outside of United i've pretty much lost interest, never really watch match of the day and rarely watch other games unless it's a big one/champs league. Still love the big international comps though. Cant wait for the world cup, if anything just so its a break from suffering United for a month.

I’ll still watch every United game. I moan a lot more now through it. Still look forward to the matches.

Regarding football in general; I’ve vowed not to watch Liverpool or City matches live. I could do without seeing them play.
Will try and watch other teams more this season, that I wouldn’t normally bother with.

There are seasons I barely watch a minute of non United games and others were I watch a lot, regardless of our form at the time. I'm going to watch more games this year to get a better appreciation of the lower positioned clubs in the league. When all those records were being broken (first win at Old Trafford in 200 years etc) recently, those teams were doing it by upping their game against a disorganised host, but it doesn't seem to need extra effort from them to beat United now. Then again, in a few weeks, I might just ignore the league and solely tune in to United games pretending we are still potential champions

With family commitments and work I struggle to get the time to watch games but I follow them online where I can through the match day thread....until recently. The last few games have been so bad I just stopped following the thread to keep sane / not get angry and frustrated.

However I get time off at odd points in a week and 3 years ago I started watching the U23 games at Leigh Sports Village but got frustrated at the level and style of play and switched to watching the Women's team under Casey Stoney. It was great watching the team get promoted into the WSL and making a go of challenging for a champions league place. It was wonderful to watch a well drilled team fight for each other for every moment in the game and was a welcome distraction from the terrible football the men's team were producing at the time. And then.....just as Casey Stoney started to ask serious questions of our owners and administrators....the usual lies, indifference and underinvestment kicked in.

Casey leaves in frustration and is replaced by an underwhelming manager with a quarter of her talent and seemingly using players because of their reputation, rather than their ability or tactical relevance. Are we spotting a trend?

It was great to watch the England Women's team win the Euro's, with 2 United players making key contributions...proof that with the right manager and backing anything can be done.

So I really feel like I am at a crossroads with the club. If the current owners stay then I can only see them driving the club into the ground at all levels. I could get onboard if we were building for the future by using young talent but no....we are buying overpriced items from other clubs rejection piles and trying to make out they are transfer coups!

I'm also scared about what sort of "new owners" are out there as well. Finding a wealthy owner that doesn't have some sort of negative aspect will be tricky. I would find ownership by a Saudi / oil magnate to be offensive.

The ONLY bright spark at the moment is that the club have selected a great manager in EtH but already I can see elements of the club are conspiring to brief against him.

I'm finding it all a bit ominous at the moment...I fear that the media will be used to whip up a frenzy and drive out the manager just so the glazers can get back to a less demanding manager.

I'm sick of the circle repeating itself - good manager makes progress - demands more from club - manager not backed / is destabilised - Player or fan power used to drive them out - rinse and repeat

I'm in desperate need to see some green shoots of recovery within the club...but I'm not sure we have created the right environment for that to happen yet.

What did you say? To be honest, at 8 years old I think it’s fine to change your club. Especially if it’s one your family doesn’t have strong ties to. Would probably get bullied a lot growing up supporting this United team aswell

My interest in football has plateaued and regressed since 2009ish. A combination of growing up and getting burnout from football in general. I haven’t bought a FM since 2009. I haven’t bought a Pro Evo or FIFA since 2013. I used to watch lots and lots of football as a teen too.

Socialising and work have taken front seat now. I’d never turn down a day out with friends somewhere over watching a United game, regardless if we’re the worst team or the best team. United is a parasocial relationship to me and going too far with that kind of thing leads to negative traits, like potentially getting depressed watching the club now.

I take it as a blessing that I can switch off from United and go do something else with my time.

I wont be travelling over as often this year unless I see a big improvement. I stopped going over for games from January when I seen some players not even bothering. Rashford was the worst, and I also seen Bruno and his antics throwing his arms in the air. He is making more mistakes than most, trying to make impossible passes.

The opposite. No point getting angry over United anymore.

I just want hope that's all, when Mourinho was fired and the reports said we were gonna bring in a DOF and sort out the structure is the last time I felt real hope. Then we ended up hiring Ole and giving the DOF job to an internal candidate when the job clearly needed outside expertise.

The bringing in of Rangnick gave me a bit of hope, it finally looked like the club recognized it needed some help and experience, then obviously he has been moved on for being to honest and a threat to people's power/jobs. (Ow and trying to actually coach the players how to perform without the ball something by all accounts the players ignored like naughty school kids with a substitute teacher and continued to act like children mocking a coach for his nationality).

Now we are just an utter mess, it's clear Murtough and Ten Hag have no clue when it comes to recruitment, the current squad seems to already be downing tools like they did for Rangnick, we've already spent £50 million on a defender who does not look premier league quality and not because of his height. We've been making bids for players like Rabiot and Arnautovic as if signing more famously inconsistent players with reported attitude problems isn't going worsen the situation. The Ronaldo situation is a mess, (which some of us said would end up being the moment he signed but was ridiculed) he doesn't want to be here, but no one seems to want him and he obviously can't stay. We let a goalkeeper go who could possibly have played Ten Hag football and kept a keeper who clearly can't (something Ten Hag doesn't seem to have realized). The rest of the squad doesn't look like it is capable of playing any kind of well-structured football either, possible because they haven't had a coach who tried since Van Gaal... which again failed. There are no reports of Murtough being fired which very very clearly needs to happen ASAP before any more money is wasted. It's just utterly depressing.

I just want some hope, im 38, and ive supported United since before i remember, I know how lucky we were in the Fergie era, I don't need us to be winning every trophy, I just want us to be able to play vaguely good football and act vaguely competently, these things are easily possible, but something about this hierarchy just seems to be against the idea and you can't even put it down to money considering how much we spend. How can it not put you off watching football, when the team regularly looks like it doesn't care, and the people running the club clearly do not want to make the changes they need to.

So yeah it puts me off watching football, when you watch our team act like this on and off the pitch, and you see so many of our rivals being so well managed and trained, I don't want to watch that, it's just depressing.

No, I need to get my enjoyment for the sport from other games.

Especially as I'm injured at the moment and can't play.

100%.

It’s also, for the first time, genuinely affecting my mental health. For some reason I thought this season would be different. Great new manager, new structure behind the scenes etc.

Now it’s looking like the worst season we’ll have since I can remember in 40 years

I told him he can support whoever he wants to. His dad doesn’t want him to change teams even though his dad doesn’t support United.

What has happened though, his interest in football has plummeted. Don’t think he’s watched a football match for months
