Ed Woodward Interview

Wonder if that was a dig at Moyes..

"You don't want someone who can't make decisions."
I think it was. Woody took a lot of heat that summer for the lack of signings, but it was most probably Moyes who was dithering.

It almost certainly was. Moyesy's procrastination in that summer window is probably the second biggest financial mistake the club has made recently, after his own appointment in the first place.

Definitely a dig at Moyes i think also, Woodward still gets unfairly criticized for that summer when it's clear it wasn't all his fault if at all.

Also the bit about ''the biggest difference with Louie is he has Charisma and is a winner, he's done it in the past and the players respect that'' while not a dig at Moyes, is probably confirmation that in Woodward's mind Moyes just didn't have the personality or profile to command the respect of the squad.

I gather that Woodward will pick a great manager after LVG and I dont think he would of picked Moyes at all.

I definitely took it that way. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he was as ecstatic as the fans to see Moyes' exit. Must have been miserable working with that calamity.

I love him.

He's building quite the profile for himself as well. Has a real reputation as a tough negotiator and skilled businessmen, as well as a good guy (e.g. RVP's comments).

I thought he came across really well and on the basis of what's happened since van Gaal took over all the signs are that it was actually Moyes who lived up to his reputation as 'dithering Dave' with regards that farcical summer transfer window in 2013 and that any blame for Woodward should be at most minimal.

His words give me hope that the next man will be somebody with a big reputation.

It's a PR exercise, of course, but he's doing well to get the supporters on his side.

And he seems like he supports the club. He knew a few tidbits like we were the first English club to play in Europe & the first to win it in 1968.

I think Peter Kenyon was actually there in 1968, which worked nicely for him when he was CEO.

Until he fecked off to Chelsea and all that....
