Don't you just love Woodward's logic: We desperately need a CB and a CM. Goes on and sings one of the best strikers in the world.

Love it!

Looking at the Caf today, some would react to Woodward walking on water by saying: not impressed, the guy can't swim.

I'll admit I was not happy a week or so ago-but with six players in-all upgrades of the squad, I have no complaints.

I wanted something a little more positive than the second one but slightly less than the first. It would have been nice to have some of these deals completed earlier and some of the prices could maybe have been better? (particularly on the sales end). But obviously the signings have been great particularly Di Maria and Falcao, some A grade muppet material there. Very good overall, quite surreal even, how could anyone complain.

I really think that this transfer window has been screaming with panic above anything. We really needed a long-term DOF who could tell LVG that although his short-term philosophy is to play a 5-3-2 - it is a rare formation which the next manager won't very likely be using.

In which case we should have been interested in someone like Sanchez. A DOF should have complete trust in the manager but prepare for failure as that is when their job becomes apparent.

If LVG fails now we are pretty much completely fecked as we got rid of all of our 6 winger options. Our best options out wide are Di Maria(who we need and who is best centrally) and Januzaj. If one of those gets injured we start playing players out of position to be able to field a formation with wingers.

I think a DOF should have kept Kagawa at least who would have given any new manager the option to field a formation with wingers with at least one back up for if one gets injured. He didn't bring in any profit either with that fee like Welbeck who made sense financially at least.

We have really put all eggs in the same basket and we can't do anything about it until January now.

Finally backed up all the talk we've heard for years with real investment in the squad. He's done brilliantly this summer. Signing all these wonderful players, getting the Adidas deal done, bringing in LVG and proving we can compete to sign the best players in world football.

This time last year he was a clueless tit, embarrassed by the Herrera saga & the 3 lawyers. Now he's a genius and proven he's learning how to do deals. Good lad!

Safe to say I changed my stance after he delivered in those last couple of weeks. 4 players in 2 weeks, and the calibre of them, nobody could have even hoped for that.

Ditto. These expensive buys could well be what will turn the club around, but what if we end up 5th and the club starts to experience financial limitations? 120 million for two players we strictly don't need could turn out not looking so good if it makes us forego that all important CM.

For me I'd pick the option that says "He's on a path to redeeming himself, but we'll see".

That being said, Di Maria and Falcao is a wet dream. I almost thought the time United could get those type of players was over. It's like 2003 all over again.

Very good in terms of players in and out. He's been robbed Blind on most of the transfer fees, which he can afford because he makes up for it with fantastic commercial deals.

The big lesson here is never judge the transfer window until 2 September.

We all watched this space, and it was well worth it. Well done Mr. Woodward. You have delivered, now its time for the manager and the players to follow the suit.

Has really put his name on the mark with this window. Can't complain at all, other than not bringing in a top quality CM. Though that's more LVG's preference to not bring in another CM than Woody to go and actually buy the player.

Has certainly proved his worth this summer.

We've signed one of the best players of the French, Dutch and Spanish leagues. Two of which are undoubtedly world class.

We've signed a potential world class talent and two other players who'll go straight in our first XI and improve the team.

Also got rid of most of the deadwood. Brilliant transfer window for us. Now we've a solid base.

He's having the best year of anyone at the club so far. Learned from his mistakes last summer and will continue to learn from his mistakes this summer and master the market. A quick study.

I said before when we signed only Herrera and Shaw that since last summer he has done a good job.

He got the Mata deal done with minimal fuss as well as replaced Moyes with an excellent manager and then wrapped up the Shaw and Herrera deal with minimal fuss.

He's carried on in the same wane.

Voted for a highest praise option simply because the guy deserved it. Not only the great and legendary Louis van Gaal is capable of making huge decisions it seems.

His spending in this window was absolutely merciless but then you look on Adidas deal and you just can't believe how much further resources United will gain over the long future. That is a sign of having a pair and a cool business brain.

A+ Take a bow.

Woodward delivered!

I still can't believe we have signed Di Maria AND Falcao, and in one window! I'm pretty sure something terrible is going to happen to balance this out. Or is this our reward for putting up with Moyes?

It's already happened, we had to sell Danny! But apart from that and not signing a better midfielder than Blind, I have no complains. It's been a terrific window for us and puts us right in the mix for top four.

Jury is out. He made a meal of the prior two transfer windows, and has spent a lot of money but it remains to be seen if the money spent will get United where it needs to go.

It's not just about spending money but spending it wisely.

For Woody's finale before he is off for the Summer, I am expecting three party sponsorship deal announcement next week:

1) God to sign a deal to be the Official Religion of Manchester United -- UK region.
2) Allah in the GCC region and parts of Nigeria
3) Buddha as the official deity for Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam and Hong Kong/China.

We are working on Ganesha for India. (Expected announcement in Sept.)

He brought in some amazing players but the only two world-class signings are more naturally suited to positions where we didn't desperately need them. Di Maria is for me not a specialist midfielder. I believe he only works in a midfield three.

He also spent an absurd amount of money getting the players, and I don't think he's done enough about midfield and, in particular, the defence.

The nonsensical Nani loan, the charity sale of Kagawa and the decision to sell Welbeck to Arsenal makes it a lot more sour than it needed to be.

It's a good window, no doubt about that. But when you're prepared to spend 150-200 million you're bound to get some good players. We could have spent it more sensibly.

Would you like to elaborate on that sentiment ?
