Looks another absolute road and so a poor decision to put them into bat.

We bowled for almost 3 full days in the 1st test last week, and it looks like it'll be the same again.

Just the usual shite really.

Very poor decision from Root.

Question is also does this England batting line up have the discipline and fortitude to exploit 1st innings on such wickets?

Probably not to be honest.

Major issues with both batting and fielding, we're just not a good Test side. Especially away from home.

We're exactly the same as we were when Root took over, except he's not as good a batsman as he was then.

Completely agree.

We've lost a great batsman and gained an average captain.

Not particularly great from England if we're honest. Can't see the point of five seamers at all.

Hard to see a long-term future for Curran in the test team unless he can bat in the top six. Just doesn't offer enough as a bowler at the top level.

Also, you'd be worried if you were Jack Leach. Moeen must have a good chance of getting back in if he's anything like his best.

It's amazing how harmless and ineffective Archer has looked in both tests. He's just been trundling in at medium fast pace and the batsman just deal with him easily.

Really really disappointing.

Burns should be made Captain. Although the Stokes, Root, Buttler, Bairstow group are talented I think they think they're better than they are.

Have to say Root's handled him poorly so far.
Yeah he definitely has which adds further fuel to the fire that he shouldn't be captain. Think Root will keep the captaincy in the South African tour but if England lose there, then depends how much Burns are cemented his place in the side.

Root scoring at will and seeing the ball like a football. Has to convert this into a massive double ton.

Fair play to Root, fantastic knock.

Pitches like this will kill Test Cricket though.

An absolute road, just total shite.

Bairstow is appalling.

I know they will say he's only playing because Pope is unwell but he shouldn't be anywhere near the squad. He's completely broken in test cricket, he can't do it.

He needs to go away for a long time and try and fix his issues.
