If Smith played at leeds he would have been a great shout to get 1000 runs.
He has had a bonkers series
He has had a bonkers series
Seems like it. Seems like only the other Aussie batsmen can stop Smith here. Are the Aussies gonna collapse around Smith before he can make these runs?
Right? Ithought he hit it the way he was adamant. Australia reviews have been shocking this series. That was plumb LBW why the feck would you review that
Yeah a friend of mine used the phrase 'cheat code' the other day. Sums it up really.I've never seen anything like this.
It's like he's got a cheat code or something.
They've bowled better and Cummins is a brilliant brilliant bowler but Smith is why Australia have retained the ashes. If he wasn't so ridiculous I think England would have won it.
Yeah he's definitely sped up a bit hasn't he. You can tell. He's bowling early 80s rather than high 70s.Curran's hat trick ball was 88mph, there.
When the game has been even he's been impossible to get out. Only after he's been concussed or if there's quick runs to be had has he really gotten out.If Smith played at leeds he would have been a great shout to get 1000 runs.

Is this a WUM?Smith is GOAT in tests. No one actually saw Don bat or the quality of bowlers he was up against so he doesn't count.
An unfashionable player with inelegant technique suddenly becomes the best in the world. Not sure what's that hard to understand about the analogy? What?
Smith casually hitting more 4s than Warner has scored runs.
He's actually done it, the mad man. Warner's somehow had a worse series than Roy
Jack Leach was averaging 40 odd until he got out this morning, it's been a weird summer.Smith casually hitting more 4s than Warner has scored runs.
Wasn’t a chance anyway, I think he was surprised by it because it came straight off the grill.Reactions of a sloth from joe root
I understood... it’s just an injustice to Smith. An unfashionable player with inelegant technique suddenly becomes the best in the world. Not sure what's that hard to understand about the analogy?
Considering Smith is also not unique in having a peculiar technique and scoring a volume of of runs (i.e. Chanderpaul) it is a very strange comparison. Smith's averaged 74 since his first test century at the Oval 6 years ago. The year out has allowed him to have surgery on a troublesome elbow and to rest (he complained of feeling fatigued after the India series in 2017), we should not be surprised that he appears to have gotten even better.I understood... it’s just an injustice to Smith.
Jack Leach honestly looks to have a better and more secure defence than every other batsmen bar those you just mentioned. The batting, outside of Smith, Stokes, Labuschagne & at a stretch, Burns, have been truly abysmal this series. Warner and Harris both averaging under 10
Any chance the volume of T20 cricket is having any sort of impact on test batting (mentality)?
I think Burns has had an excellent series, especially when compared to the returns of literally everyone else at the top of the order. The batting, outside of Smith, Stokes, Labuschagne & at a stretch, Burns, have been truly abysmal this series. Warner and Harris both averaging under 10
