I'm in exact same position. We gambled. It didn't pay off.
Taking a few hits will drop you down ranks massively. The difference in PTS isn't much
That defeat took me from 10 players (fine with tfrs allowed) to 7 and only able to put out 10 players.

Yeah for sure it will drop, but we have little choice I guess.

I think I do not regret fully my strategy.
Depay,Wijnaldum, Dumfries did feel like logical picks.
France I guess getting Varane was a bit stupid over Meunier/Maguire/Shaw, but I picked him thinking France had highest chance to go far.
We don't need our wildcard, the last 16 will be easy to predict

The guy first had wildcard so it is a -12 point swing potentially that my 3 French players go out.
Guy top of our league has it in the bag now. The closest with the wildcard too is in 9th. No pressure @canny95 whoever you are..
@Damien - Here's a safe space where you can cry into your blanket. 
9 players left plus 3 transfers, gives me 12 players for the quarters. But one of them is De Bruyne who looked like he may not make the next game. Might have to take at least one four point hit.
Yeah it is well played to him doing so well keeping the wildcard. I think he got lucky having both Torres doing well from the bench in the group stage.
Ronaldo really helping him out a lot.

Looks like Gosens might be ill. Have already brought him on, but it do not matter since it was for Varanes 0 pointer anyway.
I really needed Gosens since I am looking at -12 or -16 for next round.
It is always annoying though with injuries/illness when you have a good feeling about players, but there is people with Perisic, Gosens and KDB out there so yeah could be worse.

I kind of set up my team to use it with mostly punts for week 1. Then Eriksen, Wijndal and Cancelo out pretty much forced my hand.
Funny enough though I had Depay, Lukaku and Ronaldo from the start like you so my attack would have been good without changing it. Midfield would have been poor though.

What a nightmare this has been. 9 players out. I thought I played it as safe as I could without going with one player from each side too much or 2vs2.

Now the bad news:
8 players knocked out, no wildcard and doubts over Beradi and KDB starting next match.

I focused primarily on captain choices, ensuring there was a decent option for most of not all days.
Got pretty lucky MD3 with the Spanish lads coming on & getting some points. The only reason I'd have WC'd would be to change the defence, didn't think the chip was worth just for that, plus, I was at work so wasn't sat at home overthinking it, that played a major part!
Made sure to pick players from a variety of price points, making it easier to switch if necessary, see Lukaku+Insigne>>Belotti+KDB. Opted for KDB after his performance MD2, keeping Ronnie over Lukaku as a captain backup if Belotti+KDB didn't score as well as predicted.
Ah commiserations mate. I thought you were the better team in normal time, should have had it won in the first 75 mins before you ran out of steam. Then the red card decided it in the end.
I have 8 players eliminated plus KDB. Even Garcia and Berardi might not start

I completed cocked up this fantasy. I have 2 accounts and messed my redcafe one up. I hate my life.
I took a risk and took -12 points. At this stage if you don't risk it then it's pointless anyway trying to catch up.
16 point hit done, which would put me from 8th to 23rd before a ball is kicked!

The hits I took are looking better now. I didn’t trust these, and Morata, P. Torres and Sarabia delivered a grand total of 4 points. If I can get 3 returns or cleanies from here on, it was worth taking the hit.
No Insigne. No Lukaku. Double Italy clean sheet gone.

On the bright side I have Morata with 2 points next maybe so almost paying for his hit.
