Bruce the shark in Jaws. If you were around when Jaws came out in the movies that summer you did not go in the water. The world was terrified of sharks after that and still is.
The other character to have a huge impact was Linda Blair’s portrayal of Regan in the Exorcist. Any noise in the attic after that used to scare people shitless and devil’s and demons were all the rage.
