I was watching some old season rundowns and came across this beauty.


Arsene Wenger's 1000th game in charge, a huge occasion, only to get utterly embarrassed by his most hated adversary.

Let's also not forget Zidane's big moment in the WC final, only for him to get sent off, leading to France ending up second best in the tournament.

Losing the champions league final in the last two minutes of a game after leading for majority of it. Credit for them coming back the next or year after and winning it.

That Munich anniversary game comes to mind for me. What a letdown. Think the occasion got to them in a negative way rather than inspiring them. Nice kits though!

He was their talisman and they eventually went into one of the most important penalty shoot-out in most of those player's careers without him. Still think they could have got over the line with him

Possibly but the head butt was crazy, great drama, especially with Matterazi’s ludicrous reaction. I’m not bothered who wins the WC between those two teams.

Fantastic ending for a twat of a player and a massive hypocrite.

But most of all, Robben missing THAT 1 on 1 with Casillas in 2010. It still haunts my dreams.

All of this is from the national team, since being a Feyenoord fan you get used to being disappointed on a regular bases

Euro 2016 was a prolonged big stage disappointment really. There were some great stories (Wales, Iceland) but there was very little quality on show.

FA Cup Final 2007 at the new Wembley was such a poor game with a terrible result from our point of view.

From a United point of view I have to say the 2002 CL semi-final against Leverkusen. If we won that we would've been playing Real Madrid in the final at Hampden Park. That would've been an amazing occasion.
