No but he did join the club the same time that Hazard left, Pulisic signed in January.Lampard didn’t sign Pulisic.

They actually managed to spend £100m whilst being banned! How much was Bruno? You spent that to make sure you finished ahead of them.
You alsdo spent 80m on Maguire. He didn’t get to spend anything (unless you count the Kovacic deal).
Haven't won it yet. Arsenal actually found some form recently.
Yeah fair dues, point being we're in with a shout of having a better season overall. Not that I think this directly translates to Lampard > Ole, mind. But Chelsea haven’t won the FA Cup.
Good point, that slipped my mind.3rd + Europa would be better.
Flexing much?Where are all those who swore that he is better than Ole?
Better squad depth, as good a starting XI as us and definitely more experience in the side, but finishes below us with a horrendous defensive record.
Not that he's a bad manager or anything, people went overboard with how great he is in his initial days.
Probably the individual that had the biggest effect on their season was Kepa. He’s been the worst keeper in the league and cost them countless goals. He lost 12 times in the league this season. 12 times. I still maintain my opinion that he got bailed out massively by Giroud and Pulisic, the former is the difference between them and us, they had a veteran striker ready to step in with their starter was misfiring.
And you were bailed out by who? Bruno? VAR? or a lucky combination? You are definitely not more deserving of getting top 4 than us. And you were actually expected to be there at the start of the season compared to us.He lost 12 times in the league this season. 12 times. Disagree. People rarely had either of United or Chelsea making the top four. Everyone had Spurs, City and Pool and it was a toss up for the 4th spot. And you were bailed out by who? Bruno? VAR? or a lucky combination? You are definitely not more deserving of getting top 4 than us. And you were actually expected to be there at the start of the season compared to us.
I hear this narrative a lot, that Chelsea were headed for a disastrous season after losing Hazard, transfer ban, inexperienced manager etc. But Chelsea is Chelsea, they will always be around top 4 or 6, it was Spurs that severely underperfomed after reaching the CL final last season. And you were bailed out by who? Bruno? VAR? or a lucky combination? You are definitely not more deserving of getting top 4 than us. And you were actually expected to be there at the start of the season compared to us.
We were bailed out by Moyes! And you were bailed out by who? Bruno? VAR? or a lucky combination? You are definitely not more deserving of getting top 4 than us. And you were actually expected to be there at the start of the season compared to us.
Kepa did have an impact, but their entire backline was shite as well. And it's amazing how they've spent a feckton on attackers but not on that back 4Probably the individual that had the biggest effect on their season was Kepa. He’s been the worst keeper in the league and cost them countless goals.
The window is not even open to be fair. It shouldn't be assumed they will sign nothing at the back.Kepa did have an impact, but their entire backline was shite as well. And it's amazing how they've spent a feckton on attackers but not on that back 4
Give it time!Kepa did have an impact, but their entire backline was shite as well. And it's amazing how they've spent a feckton on attackers but not on that back 4
In terms of big chances conceded we're like 2nd.Kepa did have an impact, but their entire backline was shite as well. And it's amazing how they've spent a feckton on attackers but not on that back 4
The disastrous season for Chelsea prediction was based on pure myth. Chelsea were not so poor that losing Hazard was going to sink them. People preffered to pretend that Chelsea's contingent of loan players, let alone the youth coming through were not good enough. Not to mention not taking adding Kovacic permanentely and Pulisic seriously.I hear this narrative a lot, that Chelsea were headed for a disastrous season after losing Hazard, transfer ban, inexperienced manager etc. But Chelsea is Chelsea, they will always be around top 4 or 6, it was Spurs that severely underperfomed after reaching the CL final last season.
We really were not. It's Spurs who were pegged as top 4 guarantees by punditry and the media. And you were bailed out by who? Bruno? VAR? or a lucky combination? You are definitely not more deserving of getting top 4 than us. And you were actually expected to be there at the start of the season compared to us.
Go back to the prediction thread, very few had us above even Arsenal let alone in top 4, heck some people even had us below Everton. The disastrous season for Chelsea prediction was based on pure myth. Chelsea were not so poor that losing Hazard was going to sink them. People preffered to pretend that Chelsea's contingent of loan players, let alone the youth coming through were not good enough. That was such a lazy prediction, despite making the CL final it was pretty clear Spurs were on a decline. We really were not. It's Spurs who were pegged as top 4 guarantees by punditry and the media.
Exactly. He still had Pulisic available to replace Hazard and signed Kovacic and had so many more options than Ole all season long. He has done ok. FA Cup would be very nice though.I hear this narrative a lot, that Chelsea were headed for a disastrous season after losing Hazard, transfer ban, inexperienced manager etc. But Chelsea is Chelsea, they will always be around top 4 or 6, it was Spurs that severely underperfomed after reaching the CL final last season.
How could we be expected to be there more than you? We, apparently, have a PE teacher for our manager, we shipped out our only goal scorer and, according to many on here, our players are rubbish and are only good enough for the Championship. And you were bailed out by who? Bruno? VAR? or a lucky combination? You are definitely not more deserving of getting top 4 than us. And you were actually expected to be there at the start of the season compared to us.
Well we finiished 3rd so did deserve it more. And you were bailed out by who? Bruno? VAR? or a lucky combination? You are definitely not more deserving of getting top 4 than us. And you were actually expected to be there at the start of the season compared to us.
Only Guillit got it right.
Three BBC pundits predicted us for top four and two were almost certainly being a bit biased due to their connection to us.
The Tottenham predictions

I agreeThat was such a lazy prediction, despite making the CL final it was pretty clear Spurs were on a decline.
It's a marvel people still believe this bullshit that Chelsea were worse off than usI think people are talking crap about them having a far better squad than us.
Come on. They still kept Willian and Pedro. Plus managed to convince Hudson-Odoi to stay, were getting Mount back from a successful loan in addition to adding Pulisic, who as a result was under no serious pressure to hit the ground running from day 1. They were not remotely understaffed let alone worse than us in that department. They went into the season losing the best winger in the league. People have said Pulisic is the replacement, but he needed bedding in at first; also, he got injured a few times.
This just isn't true. His first half of the season was strictly disturbed by injury not performances. He was always going to be a good signing for them. He didn't need to look like a new Hazard to be a proper deal for them.People are looking at his form now and are making out that is what he has been like all season. No, it has been pretty recent where he has started looking like a promising replacement for Hazard.
Chelsea's depth in midfield far outstripped ours this season. Barkley and Loftus-Cheek are more creative than all but 2 of our first team center midfielders. Yet they were able to add Gilmour and Mount to the mix.Jorghino, Kovacic, and Kante (albeit, he seems to have deteriorated) are good, but what are these amazing replacements they have? We have Matic, Pogba, Fernandes, and Fred.
I thing you are over looking 2 major factors:Their defence isn't good. There is a reason Zouma was loaned out to Everton before. Azpilicueta has aged. Wan Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Bailly, Jones, Shaw, Williams is a far better defence, in both depth and first team.

It's only in the striker position in which one could say they had reason to worry. Since Abraham was untested and Giroud is Giroud. And batshuyayi simply still failed to work.

I thing you are over looking 2 major factors:
1. Chelsea added players of about the same level to the defence. All versatille They literally had 2 line ups for their back line. Without any injury prone guys. That makes a huge difference
We in comparison had useless guys like Jones. Then useful guys like Bailly, Tuanzebe, TFM, Dalot and Shaw who had fitness issues all season long. The only advantage we had over then was a more solid starting defence. They had a flexibiity in selection we did not possess
2. Chelsea unlike us had a quartet of fullbacks who are all excellent going forward. That helped cover the multitude of sins at the back.
It's really in goal were our advantage was extreme.
Lampard had indeed done a good job. But he did not have a tougher job than ole. He had more options in his squad both at the back, in midfield and out wide on his bench. Whilst Ole was literally hanging on by a thread in the absence of key starters till the miracle named Bruno arrived.
Imagine adding the Supercups on top of that4th, FA Cup and Champions League even better!
when calling out other opinions as crap, should at least get the basic points right, I mean the factual ones.I think people are talking crap about them having a far better squad than us.

They were relying on a striker (Abraham) who was playing at Derby last season, and Mason Mount. These two youth players who were finding their feet in the team and had never played a Premier League game. Giroud seems to suddenly being made out to be better than he is; he has his uses but has never been a prolific goal scorer - these are his past goal-scoring seasons: 4, 3, 2, 8 (this season). We have Rashford and Martial, who are pretty experienced also.
Jorghino, Kovacic, and Kante (albeit, he seems to have deteriorated) are good, but what are these amazing replacements they have? We have Matic, Pogba, Fernandes, and Fred.

De Gea is much better than Kepa, despite his mistakes; I would say Romero is arguably better also.
I would say he has done well. Last season they got 70 points; this year 66 points. I would say the loss of Hazard is worth more than four points. If they had him, they would have exceeded last season's points total.
I think both teams need to up their game next season, though.
