comfortable and settled in my rut
Ole walked into the dressing room to approach the fringe players.

“We need to get you some more play time lads, get some rotation with the forwards”

pointing to where the group of bench players sat

“which wing do you want?”

“Right!” Said Fred.
You have somehow redeemed one of the most ridiculous threads I've seen in a long while. Bravo

:lol: what a terrible idea.

If we're changing Fred's role to anything it should be to keeper, free DDG up to play CF.

Haha.

I didn’t know where that was going at all, at first

I'd say the more logical move is to actually just try to play football and use Fred as a DM:

Rashford-------Greenwood
---------------Martial------------------
--------Pogba--Bruno--------------
-----------------Fred-------------------

should really be able to actually play some football and give CBs some headaches with Martial dropping off and force fullbacks to defend strikers out wide in goalscoring positions. Could even use McTominay at CB like Guardiola or Bielsa probably would.

Van De Beek would play the Martial false 9 role well too so Martial can just spell Rashford and Greenwood so we only have to see the 7 technically sound midfielders we have playing, along with the occasional James providing pace on the counter or late game pressing/energy and maybe a few Matic or Ighalo minutes in a specific defensive or throw on a striker situations.

Right then Fred
We need you on the right wing
On the touchline
Bombing up and down
Fred was blowing
Crosses weren't flowing
We were getting nowhere
And so we
Should try Mctominay

On a serious thought, no. He can't dribble and his shooting is pretty meh. But still better than Mata there I guess, at least he would probably keep the ball. And can't be worse than James or Lingard there.

I don't get why people seem offended or laugh at the idea of trying players in new positions. Like no player had been more sucessful in their new position than their natural one. Especially when you have better options at their natural positions.

I would try him at LB in matches Shaw is not available though. Imo he's fast, a decent enough dribbler and crosser for a WB.

Losing to Comeback Winning!
We should try Fred as our striker next.

His energy and high press will mess opposing defense organization, disrupting their composure, and so easier for us to steal and quick counter high up the pitch.

He'll be our Firmino!

Mamma mia.

De Gea
AWB Lindelof Maguire Fred
Fred
Bruno Fred
Fred Martial Rashford

Seriously, people talk about him as if he’s some world class Kimmich clone. He’s nothing more than above average in his natural position at CM!

I would just feel sorry for the corner flags when he is cutting in and taking shots at goal :nono:

It's certainly a deeply dippy idea.

He could not be less effective than James has been recently to be fair. It's shocking though that we have let the squad get to this point, especially given the number of personnel we have.

You know your transfers are not going according to plan when ideas like this come up

There’s a right said Fred joke in here somewhere if I was witty enough to think of one
"Right said Fred all of us together, you inside and me on the right wing;

Try and pass it forward, do not to move it sideways, steady as you go and give it me to feet;

Playing out from the box I have difficulty turning, feel my ears burning when David tries to give it me, with someone at my back;

Cannot seem to score now, or even get it on the target, running down the wing I at least might get a chance;

Not as fast as James is, but can lift my head up, just as long as I don't have to take the blessed corner kicks;

Ole had a think and he said look Fred if you want stay here, then you will have to play there, the Right Wing is really made for you;

Don't answer back, or it will be the sack now and in any case Scott and Donny are both younger than you!"

Makes the idea of stationing him at left back seem wise.

Why do our fans think changing the position of a high price signing makes sense?

Fred playing right wing? Sure why not.

In 2020 the entire world has taken leave of its senses, this isn’t even the 455th most stupid thing this year

Seriously this forum never ceases to amaze me

Might aswell throw Dan James in goals and If it doesn't go right we'll call it irrelevant anyways like certain fans said after losing our first game of the season.

Could do.

Also, maybe we can try something a bit more brave to save ManUnited's future.

Replace Ed Woodward....
with Phil Jones.

I vote CB next to Maguire - he's fast and just as good in the air as Lindeloef.

What's with the obsession with playing Fred in unfamiliar positions?

I'm sure others had been suggesting playing him at full-back as well.

He is not good enough in any position but some fans really like him so desperately try to fit him somewhere in the team.

Fred for DoF would be a better idea. I'm sure he could find some talented Brazillian players for the team.
